与其说是博物馆,称为游乐场更贴切,给孩子游戏的机关连大人都觉得有趣,有机会接触到各人种的小baby,小朋友们交朋友,充满欢乐
The place is pretty big and has many attractive things. Though we liked the science museum in San Francisco more.Though, This place is better for kids more than 5-6 years old who udnerstand a bit more of what is happening around, the youger kids also have fun just playing around.
Nice for youngsters but seems a little more hands on things could be appliedand the eating areas are a little overpriced .a good place for primary age kids to go too.wouldnt recommend over 13 yrs of age
Liked: variety of areas; Disliked: too crowdedFor children under 3 it might be too overwhelming. They may gravitate and want only water area. Ages 4+ will enjoy the various areas.
love this place .... and kids will definitely have fun and learn. entrance is $12 for adults and kids over 1 year old. seniors i believe is $11... we celebrated my son's bday there recently. kids will definitely enjoy being there. there are a lot of things to do. there's a fire truck and an ambulance. bubble room. activities/arts on the 2nd floor. and just hand-on for kids. i highly recommend it. i don't really recommend renting a birthday room there because it is expensive and it doesn't include food and drinks. basically, you are just renting the room and entrance for 18 people (that's kids and adults) - additional charge for more guests and a stay for an hour in that room. i was able to get groupon for most of our guests (more than 15) - and since the cafeteria seats are always full, we just ordered take out pizza from 'pizza my heart' and had it delivered there and ate outside... it's nice outside too because there's a huge lawn at the front where kids could just run around. be warned though, make sure to check with the staff at the front or the store to make sure that the pizza won't be taken to a birthday room. since there are some that do rent out birthday rooms there and also order pizza for their birthday food. you can't bring outside food so if you have outside food, you have to go outside and eat it. but over all, i highly recommend this place. it's fun for kids and a learning experience for them as well.
Lots of fun stuff for all ages! Can be an inspiration for children to be more curious about science. Very broad bandwidth of stimulation for all ages.
Kids will enjoy the interactive displays offered in the areas for kids. Displays provide a wide range of details that all ages will enjoy.
My kids love this place, but I don't. The areas are so small and crowded, you feel a little claustrophobic, and it's hard to keep an eye on your kids. It is good for toddlers and younger school age kids, and I will continue going because they like it.
I had CDM membership more than 10 years ago and took my 2 children to the museum regularly, they really enjoyed it, the museum had something for everyone between the preschool age to about 12, whether they like art craft or hand-on science activities, it kept them constantly busy, Now my children are grown but they still have fond memory of the CDM. Last year I took my 2 grand niece and nephiew to CDM, they had a blast too. The museum has changed a lot in the past 10 years but it is still a fund place to visit.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was super-crowded; this probably decreased our enjoyment of the museum. Our kids loved exploring the real fire engine and ambulance. My son liked being able to experiment with changing traffic lights, but the equipment was half broken. There was also a water zone, which they enjoyed - too bad we didn't think to bring a change of clothes, as they got quite wet! It looked liked there were also fun crafts activities available, if your kids were inclined to try their hand at them (but maybe bring a smock or change of clothes?). The make-believe farmers market and play-cooking area could have been fun but all the toy vegetables were missing when we got there. Some reappeared later, so maybe there aren't staff to help locate and return parts that have been moved. There was also an electric train ride but they had some problems with the charging system and so no rides in the afternoon... It looked like it had potential and it's probably nice enough with less kids, maybe on a weekday morning?
Kids can be kids and even though it's not fancy (the bubble room) the children had a lot of fun. It's a little too pricey. I would definitely go again. The children that I took were 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and there was something for both. Really liked the food for the children and the food for the adults was not bad.
Reasonably priced for the amount, sophistication, quantity and variety of the exhibits. There really does seem to be something for every kid's interest, from water sections through mechanical and artistic section and just plain crawling around fun exhibits!
My wife and I have taken several of our Grand kids here, when we came into town to visit and they absolutely love it, and it is hard to get them away from thereWe are now blessed with 2 more small grand kids and can't wait to take them there and watch their eyes light up as they experience it for the first time.
There are a lot of different experiences and activities here, but the favorites of my two year old hands down were the finger painting (I don't actually think it was meant as "finger" painting, there were paint brushes, but she loved the paint on her hands!) upstairs, and the huge water area downstairs. She loved throwing the plastic balls into the various whirlpools and getting splashed. The bubble room was also a hit.
it is a very well thought of place. I consider it a whole experience. What I liked the most is that they managed to incorporate a lot of elements in a smaller space. My kids can't wait to go back every time we are in the Bay Area.
