The first tee looks out at Mount Shasta and you never lose sight of the mountain. The course has shown marked improvement over the last few years and the owners continue to make this their passion. During the high season, play on the course can be sluggish; however, the pro will always help you find an early tee time . . . and then it is off to the races. My friends and I often play 18 holes under 31/2 hours.There's more: here is a place where you can party and simply walk to your lodging. Lake Shastina is a great test of golf, party and/or family friendly, and wonderful PGA (LPGA) instructors, Cindy Stensaas (LPGA instructor) can really improve your game or prepare you for a lifetime of loving golf.

I recently went on a four-day golf trip w/numerous friends to the Lake Shastina Golf Resort in Northern California. Having made previous reservations to stay & play there . . . upon arrival all we had to do to check in was to tell them the name and we got the key to our two-bed condo immediately.I found the course challenging - for my level of golf (22 handicap) - and fun. The scenery with Mt. Shasta looming nearby was stunning. We got to play unlimited golf for four days and the club even set up a couple tournaments for us amongst the groups and hosted us to a dinner on the last night. All of the staff were open and quite accommodating.The food in the restaurant was good with the all-meat pizza VERY TASTY. The condo was clean and tidy with all of the amenities anyone would need. The beds comfy and generous with queez size on both sides of the room.Overall . . . a very goos bargain considering their going tee rates for a single round of golf. I played five full rounds and one 9-hole round. Broken down I figure to have stayed there at the condo for about $60 nightly . . . quite the deal.

This course was fun to play, the setting was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We played 9 holes and it was only $33 per person, which was definitely reasonable for a Saturday afternoon.

This used to be one of my favorite courses in the area, but slow play is becoming a real issue. The last time (and trust me, it will be the last time) we played it took us 2.5 hours to play the front nine. That is borderline acceptable, but when it took us 45 minutes to play the next two holes and then we found three groups waiting on number 12 we called it a day and came home. Nice course, but until the management stops trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of the place I can't recommend it to anyone who is looking for a sub-6 hour round.

This is a gret course with amazing views. Golfers of al abilities will have fun. I higlhy recommend making a trip or stopping by, you will not be disssapointed.

This course is really open so golfing is fairly easy BUT the wind comes up in the afternoon and you can hardly keep your feet!! A least it was the day we played and we had heard that there was "some wind" but certainly not like this!!Course is open and pleasant enough and the pro shop is good. Restaurant wasn't open at 5 when we finished so we had to leave to go eat somewhere....not so good.

We have played golf at the Lake Shastina Golf Resort 4-5 times per year over the last 10 years. It is a beautiful and well-maintained course though at times it can be quite windy and chilly. The course is challenging (especially for women who don't hit it a mile!) but I still enjoy our days on the course with a view of gorgeous Mt. Shasta from most of the holes. The pro shop is sparse in merchandise but the staff is always professional and kind. There is a good driving range and putting area to limber up before you tee it up. The restaurant/bar has gone through management changes several times throughout the years but I still believe that the food is decent and the beer is cold. There are tv's on many of the walls in the bar/restaurant area and it is the perfect place to cool down or warm up after 18 holes of golf.
