I'd forgotten what a great golf course this is. Even the valley fog that obscured visibility for the first few holes couldn't hide the great design. Short 4 pars invite risk and reward as much as you want. Great bunkering and green complexes. Hole locations can mean a three or four club difference in approach shots. Generous fairways but make sure you're in the right position because the rough is not good for getting it close. Excellent condition. What else could you ask for? It's worth the effort to find and you'll go back.
Cabin units are cute, cozy and up to date. Very nice. Pool was great, had dinner at Stevinson Bar & Grill down the road. Great music.
They are overseeding, it is so hot, they allow fivesomes and that they lost their clubhouse to a grease fire. I have to imagine making this remote course profitable is a challenge of the highest order. Yet, the staff friendliness, a great back nine under a moon rising and 18 at sunset provide vivid and lasting memories.
The lodging has your basic needs like microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The kitchen does not have soap, sponge, cutlery, etc. It is quiet and there is a lot of wild life around like rabbits and turkeys. We don't play golf but we did visit the wildlife refuges nearby.
Drive down from San Francisco for a friends wedding. Guys went golfing day prior and wedding was following day. Beautiful spot for the outdoor wedding and covered tent for evening reception. Accommodated almost 250 of us (holds 300). Great food, drinks, dancing space!! Accommodating staff served the sit down dinner. Steak great! Chicken a tad dry, but sauce helped.. What a great choice the wedding party made for choosing Stevinson Ranch!
Great Greens. Fast. well laid out holes. As a course, one of the best in the Valley. Fantastic teaching facility with state of the art computer assistance for the pro.
Difficult access from the north as a bridge is being repaired. The golf course was in excellent condition and the staff was accommodating.
Although described as cottages, the lodging here is small single wide trailers. Could be these are similar to what FEMA brought in to Lousiana after the hurricane? There is a kitchen area, but absolutely no kitchenware, table service, silverware. The restaurant at the clubhouse closes at 6 and there is no place nearby to eat. The sheets were worn and pilly. The internet didn't work. HOWEVER, the staff was warm and helpful, the golf course outstanding and the lodging comfortable, if not what was expected. Tricky to rate this location because there are so many positives. Mainly, I was disappointed in the lodging, but we wouldn't have played this course if we couldn't stay on the property since there is no other lodging nearby.
This is a pretty simple place. If you are a golfer, you will love it. It is perfect for a buddies golf trip. The course is 5 star. The food and drink is 5 star. They include food in the pricing. The rooms are bungalows, and are simple, clean, and all you need.Spend a weekend golfing, hitting balls on the range or chipping area, drink some beers, and have a great steak.I only drop 1 star because the rooms are not 5 star quality, they are simple and nice.
This is by far thee best course in the valley. Challenging and always interesting to play. Greens are fast and firm. Keep it in the fairway if you can. Friendly staff, great food, and good pace of play.
Wow, what a golf course. The fairways. greens, bunkers and all playable lies do play very well. The course is not for amateurs, whatsoever. They do not maintain the outlying areas, so any misses are a disaster. The standing water around the course also makes for an interesting hazard. When you hit your ball into the water, swarms of mosquitos attack you!! Now that's a bit harsh for a bad shot. I am sitting here all bitten two days later. So, bring your insect repellent and sun cream, and your A game.
