Latest news is that all the bunkers are being upgraded, so this is a very positive move by the club.On a Sunday afternoon it was only $32 for 2 players walking. This is great value. Keep supporting your local club.
I hadn't played here in over 10 years so was real pleased to see that it is still in excellent shape thanks to reclaimed water being used. The greens were fast and in good repair. However some dolt in the group ahead of us dragged their feet all the time and messed it up a bit. But that is just an irresponsible golfer not the course. It is level and the fairways forgiving. It has a few challenging dog legs and lakes that make target golf essential. Still a good course and the pros and cafe are good too. Prices are good.
superb golf course. playing there is a treat. food back in bar/ restaurant was awesome.sunday brunch is excellent
I and my family play here once a year for the past 4 years and have always enjoyed this course. It may not be an elite course but it has always been maintained appropriately. The high note, the staff!!!! Hard to find a more accommodating and friendly staff at any golf course, we have always been treated really well and that is why I wanted to write this review. For the course itself, I have to say this year was the best I have seen the condition of the fairways and greens. The sand traps are a wee bit rough, need sand. Great course to walk, not too hilly and fairly flat.
Ladies--stay away!!!! Lots of long par 5s with an unequal starting tee blocks. May be good if you like hitting your fairway woods/hybrids over and over and over. Some bad angles from the red tees. High fences near some tee boxes are very distracting. Bumpy, uneven course shows lack of good landscaping over the decades. I just don't like playing here. btw, name changed from Royal Vista to San Ramon Golf Club. Marketing has put out some misleading offers--read it carefully and ask questions. It may not be what you think.
This is a fun public course to play but you can tell it's not being managed by a rich big company. It would be nice if they would put sand in the bunkers instead of dirt. Yes they improved the driving range but the track itself still needs lots of improvements.
This course has some redeeming qualities. #9 and #18 are fun because of the water. The Par 3s are tough and the greens are in fairly good shape. The course uses reclaimed water which smells terrible when the sprinklers come on. Many of the ball washers are empty of soap and water. Too many sand traps are just dry and hard with no sand. It's an OK value at $30 w/cart but I would never pay $63 on the weekend when I can play Tahoe Donner for $60.
This place is a dump. The staff was rude and arrogant, not friendly at all. Guy up front running the shop was a complete jerk! They charged us $50 to play a course worth $20. It was 105 degrees and there is no running water fountains on the course, cart girls, or water jugs with cups. Nearly died from heat stroke. Greens were bumpy and beat up, and bunkers had barely any sand in half of them. Find a better deal elsewhere.
Not the most exciting and challenging course, but it is well looked after and they offer a variety of low-cost opportunities to play here. The one 'problem' is the 9th, the club's Signature hole, as you can have had a good 8 holes, and then your round can be totally ruined by having to hit a green in the middle of a lake. The 9th has put me in a bad mood of more occasions than I care to remember.
In the heart of the Tri Valley. Fun and challenging course, the only island green in SF Bay area. Great friendly staff, new carts and course has been steadily improving. Twilight rates are a bargain on weekends as well
Fantastic golf experience at this neighborhood golf course. Friendly staff, challenging course and I love the island on the 9th hole.
Royal Vista is a nice course to play. They take 5 somes and are very accomodating. Golf really doesn't start until you have played the 9th hole; an island green.
This is not a tough course but it is a good course and is set off of the freeway and in a neighborhood. When you tee off you will see good golfers and hackers but the course prices are reasonable for two and a cart. So unless you are a pro you will enjoy this course
I have been going to this course for 20 years My son and i hit golf balls here on a regular basis and occassionally play around I have purchased a card on a regular basis for years by check Recently i needed another range card and tried to purchase by check (which i have done for over 20 years ' I have spent thousands of dollars at this course because it is close and covenient) but they would not take a check , didnt offer to look me up in their system at all just said basically to bad. My son has friends that use the range and course which will happen np longer . I am sure a few unhappy customers dont mean much in the big picture for these people but i will never spend another dollar at this course and when asked by friends and family if they they want to play San Ramon wel will go elsewhere To many other , nicer places to go
