My first impression was how clean and tidy the ranch was (thanks to the grandson, I am sorry I can't remember his name, but he does an excellent job). Then I meet Roxanne she was so friendly and welcoming, I liked her right away. Roxanne showed me all the horses and told me each ones story, she really loves the horses. I am a experienced rider so we went into the hills for 3 hrs. and had a great ride, Roxanne is a very interesting women, with some great story. When we got back to the stables a neighbor (Susan) came by on her horse ponying another one, then Georgia's husband came down then Georgia came along, there was another lady (Debbie I think) working with a rescue pony, they all introduced themselves and were very welcoming, I really felt like part of the group, they are all very lovely people. I will definatly be back again next year.

Me and a friend had the most wonderful and amazing time horseback riding on Cottonwood Canyon Ranch with Roxanne as our guide. She made our ride such a great and perfect experience, making us feel safe every step of the way. Roxanne is just such a wonderful person! I would highly recommend this place! The horses are so kind and so great! The place is really beautiful and the ride was a most amazing experience!

I found Cottonwood Canyon ranch on the internet, when we wanted to take our 8 year old twin grandsons on a horseback ride through the Morongo Valley hills. This ranch is the perfect location, just 30 minutes outside of Rancho Mirage. It feels like you are in a rural area on a cowboy movie set! But that, is only the beginning! Georgia and Dave, the owners, are warm, friendly, caring, knowledgeable, patient, and professional! Their enthusiasm on that first trail ride turned into horse-back riding lessons for the twins. Not only do they have beautiful horses of their own, but they also, rescue horses and provide a home for them. Horseback-riding lessons and carrots and apples for feeding the horses are now a "must" when the twins visit Grandma and Grandpa!

We spent an amazing day at the Cottonwood Canyon Ranch! My girlfriend and I brought our 5 kids ranging in all ages from 4 to 12 to go horseback riding. We were staying in La Quinta and it only took 35 minutes to get there....very close and convenient! I was so impressed with the beautiful picture perfect ranch! It was so pretty and clean....you could tell there is a lot of love and pride there! The owners were so friendly and warm and welcomed us like we were family! The whole experience was handled so professionally. The horses were well behaved and very healthy, (unlike other places we've been to!) The trail ride was very scenic and after our 1 1/2 hour ride the kids helped groom the horses and had the full horse experience. What a wonderful ranch! I'm a very experienced rider and my boyfriend is a total beginner but we both had an amazing time on our 2 hour ride. Our guide was super fun and friendly and the horses were amazing. They were very well cared for and weren't the typical trail nags you find at some stables. These horses were alert and fun to ride while still being completely safe. The owners are real horse people and truly love their animals. I'd recommend this place whole heartedly!

There was this horse ranch that I’d read about many times in the Palm Springs, CA entertainment pages in the local newspapers. Viola this is the one! A week ago I had company from out of town and I thought what a great thing to do, go horseback riding. I came upon Cottonwood Ranch by trial and error after trying a couple other ranches’ located closer to Joshua Tree National Park. When I called Cottonwood to inquire on rides for the next day Georgia answered the phone. I was convinced this was the right place to go riding after speaking with her.It has been since 1998 since I was on a trial horse in Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas. So I was a little nervous about riding but excited at the same time. The lady handlers that took us out for our ride were FABULOUS! They put us and the horses at ease. I can’t wait to go back and go on another trial ride or to even get lessons!

Had a great trail ride last week, enjoyed the scenery and horses. The stables were clean and horses very well cared for and the rescue program was very interesting. They were very understanding when we had to change the time because of the heat. Would have liked more time for photos of us on the ride that they could have taken but again we didn;t ask. I would recommend this and any level of riding is ok.

Cottonwood Ranch is so beautiful. The staff is amazing, the trails are clear, the horses are lovely and well trained. I was so nervous it being my first ride, but they made me fees so comfortable, that by the end of the ride I was ready to plan my next visit. Thanks Georgia for all the extra attention. I'll be back.

I had a great time at Cottonwood Canyon Ranch! We had a wonderful trail ride. My husband surprised me with a weekend in Joshua Tree. We saw so many beautiful desert plants...and birds... flowering cactus ... The ranch was right out of Kentucky...in the desert.. Beautiful fencing and barns.. Beautiful horses. We took and hour and half ride as recommended by the owner Georgia. We had so much fun, and felt very safe. I will be coming back again soon. I have not stopped talking about it. My young children will be coming next time so they can ride horses.. I found out that they give lessons for riding as well. It was a great day spent there. Her staff is wonderful. They are very knowegeble ... The road into her her ranch was very easy to drive on with our new car. It was smooth as glass. This was the best trail ride and ranch I have ever seen. I have traveled the world and this is the best place I have ridden. Thank you again!!!! You won't regret this choice in a ranch to spend the day!

On our recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park we wanted to do some horseback riding to see the countryside and ended up at Cottonwood Canyon Ranch. It was a fairly easy drive from Twentynine Palms, where we were staying, to the ranch. Georgia, the owner was easy to work with in setting up the ride and thorough in providing in the information we would need ahead of time. They were very concerned for our safety, including a good interview to match us up with the best horses based on our skill level and included time in the round ring to make sure we were all comfortable with our mounts before going on the trail. Our 9 year old had never been on a horse before so was significantly more comfortable when they opted to 'pony' him, using a lead rein on his full size mount. The trail was a nice section of desert hills. At numerous points on the trail it was almost as if we were in the wild as there was no sign of civilization. We only road for an hour because is was the most my husband and son wanted, but we had the option to go longer if we wished. We would definately go there again if we were in the Palm Springs or Joshua Tree area.
