Saturation and finesse, big wines . . . a working beef cattle ranch with choices for your grill as well as your wine glass. My first visit so I'll save the fifth star for another taste/visit or two.

If you value authenticity, great people and health this is as good as it gets.We live in Georgia but every year we vacation in Oregon. When there this is a "must do". We discovered this place several years ago and it is simply a grand place...the tasting experience, the GF beef, the scenery...For the last few years we have been on their "wine club" and recently I told them to increase shipments every other month and throw in some GF jerky...Can't go wrong.

When planning a trip to Williams, Oregon with my husband and father, we saw signs to Plaisance Ranch winery. We decided to stop in and taste some of their wines. The owner was the one who greeted us and poured the wine as she told us stories about the winery and local history. She offered us a tour of the winery and property, which is beautiful. The wine was very good. We chose the blush to take home.

It was 5:00 and we weren't ready to call it a day yet. We checked the brochure and...there it was...one winery open until 6:00. It was off the beaten track, but we headed out to Plaisance Ranch, arriving about 5:20. There we met Joe Ginet and began one of the best winery experiences we've ever had (and we've had many). We started with a tour and a history of the ranch. Then we heard the fascinating story of Joe's family in France and how he went from dairy farming to winemaking. He's a very good storyteller as well as a teacher. We loved the wine and did not leave empty handed. Not to mention we also bought two huge, organic steaks that I can't wait to eat! Make this your 5-6:00 winery to visit and you'll end the day happily.

We had been wine tasting with friends on a beautiful autumn afternoon; Plaisance was our final stop. Joe and his crew had just finished picking grapes, but rather than call it a day, we were treated to an amazing educational and tasting experience. We had a complete, guided tour of the winery and treated to tastes of several varietals of their wine in all stages of production, from just mashed to the barrel. Joe's passion for winemaking is reflected in the quality of their fine wine. We can't wait to go back for Wine Down and the next release.

It's worth the drive to Williams to taste the wine and meet Joe and Suzi Ginet at Plaisance Ranch. We were in Grants Pass from the CA Bay Area for a couple of days. Plaisance was one of a few wineries on our list, but weren't sure if we could make it to Williams. We met Suzi at the Farmers Market in Grants Pass, and decided to go to the Ranch in the afternoon. Sure glad we did. The wine was wonderful. Suzi gave us a quick tour of the facility, which was converted from a working milk ranch (it's still a working beef ranch). We got the chance to chat with Joe a bit about his winery/ranch and his family roots. He's passionate about both, and that made our experience even more special. We are by no means wine connoisseurs, but know what we like. The wine was wonderful and the Ginets have strived to keep their prices reasonable. But, for us the experience of the tasting and learning a bit about the people behind the wine is equally important. We never met or heard of the Ginets or their winery before this weekend. They seem like good people.

uTheir service was awful. Wine are ok. Food ( Hamberger etc.) very expensive.

Since 1979, Joe Ginet has been producing wine and beef with an all-organic approach. Small tasting room fronts an expansive wine cellar and covered entertainment and dining area. Once a month he hosts a "wine down" open to the public with food, live music, and of course wine. Family orientated environment, with horses, chickens and cows.
