castalia quarry reserve

Approximately two miles of walking trails blazed through an old quarry. It's part of the Erie Metro Parks system, with trails that are nicely maintained yet keep to the rugged outdoor scene. There are several cherry trees, berry bushes and walnut trees among the diverse growth. The local people really enjoy it but it seldom seems the least bit crowded.

This is one of the prettiest hikes in the area. It is also pet friendly and a good work out. Beautiful all year round. Not recommended for people who have limited walking abilities, it is a 2 mile uphill/downhill around the quarry. It's one of our favorites!!

You can walk the entire rim of the quarry in about an hour. A good place to walk the dog or let the kids run!

This Quarry has 3 separate trails: one around the rim, which takes you up and down a few hills; two across the street from the Quarry which are easier walks.
