We picked up some christmas gifts while in Johnson and everything looks like it of great quality. Johnson is a quirky little artsy town and Johnson Woolen Mills is an old school, good value type product. Great way to buy local.
Every time I visit the woolen mills here I always find something unique and top quality for a reasonable price. I have purchased two woolen sweaters (with zippers) in the past few years and they have held up very nicely. This trip I purchased a "knitted" poncho and am very pleased with it. It is a unique green and is very attractive having "different angles" at the bottom. Definitely worth a visit!
Large variety of local made, quality woolen clothing and home items. We were fortunate to visit during their summer sale. The best part of this mill store was the heavy weight wool that was available for purchase by the yard. Plan to visit again next year.
What a neat place if ya like plaid! Was great to see that there are a few things left that are made in the USA. I think they should have only their products for sale, I did see some things made in other places I hate to mention. Great place to purchase quality clothing.
Visit Johnson VT several times a year to shop at the Woolen Mill and Maple Shop next door. Great July Sale, Staff were very helpful!
This place sells quality products. If you are looking for a consummate Vermont souvenir in, invest in a blanket or 3.
Johnson Woolen Mill Outlet Store sells top quality and, therefore, higher priced merchandise from there factory, as well as from Pennington and Woolrich. These are not kmock-off products found in Walmart. As to dealsI found a very nice Pennington shirt and a Johnson Woolen shirt at 40% and 20% off, respectively, of what I've seen priced at other stores. The staff was extremely friendly and the selection was good. This store is not for those who want knock-off quality stuff. It's for those who want outstanding, good quality wool products which cost a little more, but, in the end, is well worth it.
Very Expensive no deals. They don't have a tour for you to see which would be great esp for families. They staff was nice and the facility was clean.
Sorry to disagree with the " doctor " but I found Johnson Woolen Mills to be a delightful destination full of hand crafted items made in America. The apparel, while a bit steep in price, is of excellent quality and made right there on the premises of domestic wool. Don't expect to be assigned a personal shopper; they let you shop in relative peace and will only approach you every so often to ask if you need anything. Yes, you pay more; however, the clothes last forever and keep you warm. I recommend it to others.
If you are looking for overpriced blended wool products than look no further. The owner is not concerned at all with customer satisfaction, and will in fact suggest you buy from competitors if you have any complaints. Don't bother asking any questions of customer service either. Be prepared to wait until they can come up with an answer to basic questions. Note the website does not offer any warranty. Buying American made products is a great way to go. But you can definitely do better that Johnson Woolen Mills.
