Orange square and the old town is a lovely stroll great cafes to sit down its very Spannish we often go there for a couple of hours when in Marbella
A walk through the old town will surely take you to the square Jose Palomo. Take a peek at the beautiful, newly decorated church and drink a glass of white wine on the terrace of the nearby cafes. In the evening do not miss the fantastic flamenco, which is immediately next door. Maria and Chato will delight you and together with other musicians and dancers will offer you an unforgettable experience Andalusian dance and music. By no means, do not miss it because it is not for tourists but for the true fans and admirers of flamenco.
Narrow streets and a wide selection of shops, offering clothes, shoes, toys, jewellery and typical tourist wares. Relaxed atmosphere with lots of cafes and restaurants for all budgets. Don't forget to visit the old residential area with its orange trees and typical mosaic decorations outside the tiny houses. The old town is close to the seafront so you can combine a visit with a tapas lunch at one of the many tapas restaurants overlooking the beach.
I was in Marbella January & February 2015 -kind weather, great town walks from old square to sea in 5 minutes .Marbella is a city on the sea -what a joy from beach to shops in a great environment in minutes . The Orange square is a great place to chill and enjoy the sun on those stolen winter days with sun warming your face , and the antiquity heartening the soul. Wowser
take time to sit and watch the world go by in the square by the church ,lots of little shops and narrow streets ,very pretty in parts
Loved everything about the old town it is a lovely old city with lots of Plazas and Restaurants. As well as good shopping for leather goods, etc.
Fun to wander the small alleyways. For Tapas, best to try Bar Estrecho. Best to get there early to avoid the typical late evening Spanish dinner routine.
Good shopping spot, nice to wander around. Enjoy the Orange trees calamari an Spanish Rioja. There is a nice mix of old and new shops great dress shops for the ladies. In the square good eateries for lovely local cuisine
What a beautiful authentic piece of Marbella, called "el casco antiguo", we enjoyed every piece of it, just finding nice tapas bars, plaza de naranjas, the old market... just enjoy it like we did!
Lovely quaint area for traditional style souvenir shopping and lunchtime eating ,only downside for us parking is difficult andcostly .
It is a lovely area. Lots of restaurants/cafes to choose from where you are not rushed and can sit and enjoy a coffee or food at your leisure. The most amazing toy shop I have ever seen is in one of the little streets here.Take your time to wander around and look at the buildings, shops and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.Cant wait to go back and sit in a cafe watching the world go by
