What a great location. Reasonably priced food and drink with the most fantastic view. This location really does take your breath away!

you see all the island from here. it was great. you need to travel up by car / coach b ut the last section is by foot. a really nice walk and the views are great.

On a recent holiday we walked to the top of Pico Castelo bear in mind you are not there when you reach the Cannon viewpoint,it is a very rewarding walk but quite hard with numerous steps but the views from the top are very rewarding,we done the walk from the road along from the Quinta do Serrado hotel,if you walk along the road for about 0.25miles you will come to the start of the footpath on the right hand side,it is signposted,you then go up the zig zag path following the signs to the top on the return you will come out near the Cannon view point.

This is one of the highest points of the island and it's cool to see the cannon turned into the sea ready to be fired. The view is stunning and you can have a perspective of what the island dimensions and proportions are.

it is a mountain peak that gives you an xcellent view of the island. A difficult walk up but worth while. Can use transport if preferred.

You can make the walk if you are feeling fit enough up to this outstanding viewpoint however the local taxis, Jeep safari or Tuksi will take you there. If you walk you will get the exilarating feeling of walking up through history.

Amazing views, over the island,needed the breather by the time we reached the point, as it's hard work on the walk up!

Quite a slog in the heat - and when we chose to walk up the mist and rain descended so we didn't see many views.

You can only drive part way up this and its hard going but worth it for the view of the entire island remember to take a drink this was our mistake and there is nowhere to buy one on the way up

From the base of the steps to the top of Pico Castelo took me 22 minutes. The climb was relatively strenuous, but you can take it at your own pace.There were plenty of plants to photograph, and the views over the island were superb.At the top is a small garden with a building whose contents advertise the Botanical Gardens on Madeira. A good work out and well worth the effort!!!

Worth the, at times, narrow climb to see the whole island of Porto Santo from what was once the refuge of islanders from marauding pirates!

Never get tired of climbing this little mountain, the terraces and plants are just fabulous and the views fantastic all the way to Madeira.

The walk from here up Pico Castello and around the next mountain is fabulous ! We got a taxi from the town to the view point , then walked up and around calling a taxi again 4hrs later on our return. It's a climb to the top but worth it, the views all around the island are wonderful . Take a picnic and you can make a day of it. . The tracks are way marked and it's a simple but lovely out around and back.
