Lovely restaurants, Irish bars with food, very quiet in March & April but livens up in May. McDonald's 100yrds away for those who can't live without it. Sardines in the Mayflower restaurant are a must but beware the lobster is not good. A few souvenir shops, a very large alcohol shop. Ice cream & crepes cafés, Italian pizzeria, Chinese, Indian & sushi. Many water activities can be booked here.

Just returned from Vilamoura. The centrepiece of this sophisticated, purpose-built resort is the marina packed with luxury yachts. It's a great place to eat and to shop during the day & evenings can be spent choosing from one of the many restaurants; there is a great choice of food. At night the marina comes alive and is a great place just to chill out. I would go back.

This place is amazing, the setting is so beautiful with many nice bars, restaurants and shops surrounding the marina. Nice for a stroll or sit down dinner, would recommend Vilamoura to anyone.

we stayed at the marina hotel with a balcony . and the view from the balcony of the sea and the marina is worth the amount you pay especially at night.

I know it was the winter season but the last evening we had dinner at the Marina there were just five people in the restaurant. Very sad and the food was nowhere near as good as when we were there in previous years. Extremely limited choice and service incredibly slow despite the lack of customers.

A beautiful Marina surrounded by shops bars and restaurants with food from around the world..... it is very quiet in March but I expect it would be teeming in the summer months...there is something for everyone there, bars with sky sports, quiet restaurants and a couple of lively (or would be at busy times) clubs........

A beautiful marina, lined with luxury yachts and rows of shops/restaurants/bars. Great place for either a few hours or the base for your holiday. Several hotels dotted around the marina itself as well as many nearby. The area is a little 'posher' than nearby resorts so expect to pay a tad more in the shops and restaurants.

Its main reason for existence these days is the Marina which now overshadows all else. It's quite easy to spend a few hours walking around the harbourside and there are pleasant walks to the west side but these are not well signed. The bars/restaurants immediately surrounding the marina seem to be more expensive than they used to be but those further out can still offer reasonable prices and don't discount Macdonalds which has a pleasant atmosphere. Traditionally to the east it is a short walk along the front to Quarteira but they have currently made this as difficult as possible during beachfront building work to develop a promenade/park. It would have been very easy to leave a small path to maintain the direct connection between the two without needlessly having to go some distance on an unmarked indirect route away from the front. By attempting to modernise the route they have destroyed part of the charm of the fishermen's area.

Very pretty marina .Lots of restaurants and small shops .A short walk to the beach front .There were plenty of taxis available .Huge boats in the Marina to look at .We had a very pleasant evening here.

Just had a stroll around this beautiful marina. Great to sit and take in the veiws......and the million pounds of luxury boats/yachts docked here. Considering this is supposedly out of season the place is still packed with locals and tourists and many of the bars and shops are open making this a great place to be, also a bonus that the sun is out too and its hot hot hot!.

We stopped off at the marina after a trip to quarteira and enjoyed a nice walk around the marina and popped into a few of the very upmarket shops, the cafes are well priced though and their is even a Costa Coffee shop to sit and relax in,well worth a quick visit

Vilamoura back to the upmarket resort it was some years ago. Gone are the 'cheap' touristy shops around the marina which suddenly sprang up during the recession. Restaurants much improved with very good food and friendly service at a very reasonable price. Still has some English/Irish bars, Chinese and Indian restaurants as well as typical Portuguese restaurants, therefore caters for all tastes. Lovely marina and beach, and golf of course, something for everyone. Ideal for young, old and families. The town of Loule is quite close by and worth a visit.
