Excellent white wine. Helpful staff. Nice selection of wine using Chenin blanc grapes. Small vineyard, but worth taking the time to visit.

This April my wife and me- we visited the Loire Valley 180 km away from Paris and located in the middle part of the Loire River in central France. It is referred to as the Cradle of the French language, and the Garden of France due to the abundance of vineyards, fruit orchards (such as cherries, which were in blossom!), and artichoke and asparagus fields on the banks of the river. We started early in the morning from the very cozy “Hotel de Normandy” (of which I have reported to you earlier), rented a car at the Montparnasse Railway Station and to the lunch time reached the city of Orleans. The Loire River valley is notable for its historic towns, architecture and wines (we tasted different kinds), but most of all –by its Medieval Castles (Châteaus). We visited Chenonseau, Chambord, Amboise and had a very good night at Blois. All the History of France passed before us! Two days trip was extremely pleasant and informative and could be recommended to those couples who like tasty and not hasty family traveling.With the best regardsMikhail Batsyn, Moscow

The grape is Chenin Blanc, the taste unique, the production small, so not heavily exported. An insider tip.There are many producers all around La Chartre sur Loir, but the cellars of Lelais, newly restored, are interesting, built into the limestone hillside and over 200 meters deep into the hillside. The welcome is warm, wine tastings are fun and the white wine exceptional (especially 2005 and 2009 looks promissing).

Nous connaissions les produits, qui sont bons, mais on peut trouver mieux dans la région.Par contre, il faut acheter sur place, car si vous réserver des cartons et que vous passez 15 jours après, comme entendu par mail, il n'est plus là et vous avez fait des kilomètres (depuis PARIS : 400km) ... pour rien.C'est ne pas correct comme attitude commerciale ...Donc, méfiez vous ;.. ce n'est pas honnête.Personnellement, je ne reviendrai pas et je le fais savoir ...c'est dommage et regrettable.

aller voir chahaignes et ses alentours il y a de nombreux viticulteurs qui font cet excellent vin, la campagne est jolie, le restaurant chez miton est à conseiller, la forêt est très proche, et la petite ville de la Chartre sur le loir est dynamique, très touristique, c'est le repère des pilotes automobiles des 24 heures du Mans, le magasin les semailles est à découvrir sans faute.

Le Jasnières est un vin blanc de très longue garde. L’appellation d'origine contrôlée est uniquement sur deux communes sarthoises: Ruillé-sur-Loir et Lhomme.Ce superbe vin blanc était déjà sur la table d'Henri IV. Vous pouvez le servir frais avec une bonne andouillette sarthoise. Le côteau du loir est un vin rouge à boire relativement jeune (avec modération bien sûr!), typique du terroir sud Sarthe. Il a un parfum et un goût de framboise, excellent par ailleurs.Une adresse d'un excellent Jasnières: Domaine de la Gaudinière, à LhommeSi vous passez dans cette région, n'hésitez pas aussi à vous arrêter à Poncé sur Loir, à quelques kilomètres, pour y découvrir le fameux Grès de Poncé, ainsi qu'un souffleur de verre. Région riche en découvertes !!!
