Too much dog poo on paving and a feeling that visitors invade on the locals territory (understandable). Food quality above average but pricey.
do you know how much money americans spent to look like cool people ? french born cool, and they have their riviera, more antgue and charming than any other village along the sea... great restaurante, white sand beach and the perfect scenario for a love story, dont miss your fligth to nice.
People watching is my favourite past time in Cannes. One minute you're watching a dog walker wrestling with 10 chihuahuas and the next a Bugatti veyron pulls up with a billionaire playboy and his latest squeeze. There are plenty of places to sit and take in the view. Lots of vendors selling gorgeous ice creams or slush puppies.
It's the main promenade in Cannes with the sea on your one side and lovely hotels and shops on the other. You can have a drink or coffee at one of the beach front restaurants or just sit and relax or wander around. It's a fantastic way to spend a day!
Nice shops, little cafes, beautiful beach front. It is, of course, very busy in the peak summer months and I would say pay attention to the time of your visit. If you go early, the shops aren't open but the beach is much less crowded. Be aware at rush hour, the road is also busy and so you can end up with quite a bit of traffic noise. Even so, it's an iconic place.
Casual strolling along the beach front with no particular place to go. Prefect ! The delightful passing of time with no meaningful purpose. Guess that's what life is really all about.
I walked La Croisette for hours. Great people watching. So many interesting people and sites. Beaches by day. McClaren and Lamborghinis by night. It’s a great walk with a lot to take in.I'd avoid all the food and drinks on La Croisette, as everything tends to be cheap and overpriced.
Bordered by the Mediterranean and the chic hotels and boutiques, the Croisette makes for a fun stroll whether you are joining the celebs for the Film Festival or just taking a stroll on your own. The Croisette was steps from the lobby of the Marriott where I stayed in Cannes on one of my research trips for "Intoxicating Southern France." A stroll to the west will take you toward the Film Festival enclave and further still, to the delightful harbor where you can enjoy seaside dining or a boat ride across to the Lerins Islands. A stroll to the east will take you to the glamorous hotels like the Carlton and the elegant boutiques where you can unload all your euros if you like. Above, a wander down the Croisette is FREE and delightful, any time day or night.
The Croisette runs for some distance outside the Intercontinental - The Carlton. Elegant shops / restaurants on the landward side with deep blue sea with pristine beach on the other. Palm trees abound and it is safe.
I absolutely loved the food and service. Nothing to dislike. Great for small groups of friends. Lively place
