Lovely presented park, very quiet as winter, but got free tickets to come back im summer. very impressed.
Specialising in animals from Asia The layout of this zoo is what makes it. It feels like everything possible has been done to not have the enclosures get in the way of the visitor. I wish more Zoos were built as thoughtfully as this. For example, some enclosures are surrounded by water rather than high fences. This really added to the experience as it made you feel the animals have the nicest possible habitat and there's nothing in the way of your view either. There's winding footpaths up and down the hillside. In some places these have been used to give you several vantage points to see the animals. Whilst it seems like a small zoo at the start, there's actually quite a lot here and following the defined route takes you past everything. The less exciting aspect of this was the cafe which lacks imagination (I was hoping it might specialise in Asian food like the rest of the zoo). In any case there's plenty of picnic tables if you want to bring your own food.Definitely worth a visit - all the adults and children in our group loved it.
We visited on a cloudy day in May with our twenty month old son and the zoo was quiet. There are a good range of animals, in a nice wooded valley setting. Some of the big cat enclosures seemed cramped but other enclosures were better and most were naturalistic. There is a walking route to follow around the zoo, which is helpful for making sure you see everything, but is a little restrictive if you get caught up in another visiting group (although you don't have to follow it...).The cafe was expensive but there are picnic facilities at various places in the zoo.A good day out if you are in the area.
This is a great day out for families. The zoo is in a lovely landscaped setting with plenty of animals. The cafe is very expensive but there are lots of picnic places if you bring your own food. A particular highlight was feeding the goats with popcorn that you buy at the entrance. They are very tame and the kids loved being amongst them. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.
I'm not normally a fan of zoos but this one in northern Brittany is lovely. Set in a beautiful wooded valley with paths that wind through the trees, it's a lovely natural quiet setting. They concentrate on conservation from south east asia and Madagascar and there are some very interesting animals including snow leopards. And at the end there were two bouncy castles where the children could let off steam!
Lovely landscaped gardens with plenty for children to do and see. The restaurant is pretty good and our young children enjoyed our day out here.
We chose to visit here as one of our non-beach days. The zoo is well laid out in landscaped grounds - it doesn't feel like a zoo!Interesting collection of Asian mammals and plants.Small adventure playground to end the visit!
We arrived at the zoo and thought it was closed as the car park was empty but thankfully it was just the rainy weather that was keeping every everyone away, so we really felt like we had the zoo to ourselves. One walking to the entrance you get this really calming atmosphere as you drop down into the little dwell the zoo is set in via raised wooden walkway. The zoo is small but we'll presented and the animal enclosures are quite large. Due the design of the enclosures there is an evident lack of metal cages which I liked as most enclosures are set on islands surrounded by water. The zoo was well maintained with plenty of picnic places dotted around. Our party was made up of grandparents and our 2 year old son and 6 month daughter so the size and layout was perfect, as the grandparents aren't the quickest on their feet! The only word of caution would be we went out of season so it was very quiet, in season will be very busy and as its a small zoo and trying to see everything with big crowds would be frustrating, however we really enjoyed ourselves even though it rained off and on whilst we were there.
We enjoyed the setting of the zoo, very shaded & well planted & maintained. We enjoyed watching the tigers & monkeys being fed & I especially liked the traditional house from Thailand. The animals all seemed relaxed & the children enjoyed feeding the goats. The loos were ok. The walk is on a slope but we used the lift to help us get back to the exit. The shop was pleasant. My only gripe is that there were only a fe families waiting to get in & it took a long time to process payment & give out the tickets - not sure why?
We had a very nice afternoon at this zoo slowly making our way around the long loopy path which takes you around the zoo seeing all the animals. The animals all seemed very relaxed which was nice to see.the zoo is on a bit of a slope which we didn't find a problem but might be difficult for visitors who can't walk far. There is a disabled entrance / exit and a lift for wheelchair users.
We spent a lovely afternoon, my 16month old son and me, wandering around this zoo. It is very peacefull and beautifull and well looked after. There are wild flowers everywhere. The animals are obviously very well looked after and arn't at all distressed as you can sometimes see in other zoos. My son loved feeding the goats out of his hand and there is a fun play park at the end of the visit for the little ones with 2 bouncey castles. I can't wait to go back with my husband next time so that he too can discover this wonderfull place.
Great day out kids loved it would go again.not to many people when we went as we went early by the end of the day it was packed so get in when the park opens to avoid the crowds
