The windmills were on my list of must see things in Mykonos, but was very disappointed in the state they are in. Considering they are publicised as a must see tourist area, there is litter everywhere and the windmills are very rundown. Still nice at sunset though!

The postcard of Mykonos. Our hotel was located just behind the Windmills, difficult to find a better spot and a better view.

the best place in Mykonos!!!! It was like a setting out of a film! The best spot for walk and for photos!!!!!

Other than the chaotic parked cars & a somewhat messed up surroundings there...I would have rated this landmark a 5! Nonetheless, it was a real Greek experience for me and my husband, and to be amongst the 6 age-old windmills on a windy beautiful day was a dream come true. We can actually feel the excitement of everyone there and it was much thanks to the perfect timing of our cruise ship stop, experiencing the sunset by the windmills was TRULY MAGICAL! Love seems to hang in the air! Though that might just be us too! :)) But don't just stop here, nearby the windmills by the waterfront is Little Venice... a relaxing place to sit with a great strategic spot to watch the sunset while having a cocktail or 2 to unwind. There are numerous bars to choose from as there are numerous restaurants & hotels. Naturally it's a bit pricey as compared to the other Greek islands, but do try to remember that a restaurant with a tablecloth & wine glasses on top of its table normally does charge extra for these fineries. Mykonos offers shopping & souvenirs galore plus a lot of artworks/galleries. Should you have the extra time, do visit the famous Paraportani Church which is really four little churches joined together to form as one. It's particularly famous with Fine Arts students & artists and it is photographed a lot. In fact, a visit to Mykonos should send you crazily clicking that gadget you have hanging around your neck because you simply can't help it...you will want to capture that magical feeling that hangs in the air! And speaking of magic...the nightlife here, they said it's always a party! Ya mas! Cheers!

The windmills are very pretty to see, but a little overrated. We did end up going to them several times, because when walking around the town, you seem to end up there.

it's a pack of windmills. Period. But it's one of the local's landmark and a great photo spot. Try to visit very early in the morning for the sunrise or by the late evening and be amazed by the cyclades sunset. These windmills are the pictures you usually see on many Mykonos postcard. Other than that there's not much to see but the strong wind.

The Windmills make for a nice view from the island but the area around it is not very well kept considering it is a big tourist attraction. There are many places like little italy around the windmills for having a good meal or drinks.

Well maintained Wind Mill. Worth seeing the mills in an island. Historic spot one must see.Worth buying Models of Wind Mills of different size available in market

Although the windmills are no longer in operation they are still worth a look at. They are absolutely huge! And quite fascinating. The view over Mykonos is quite beautiful from the windmills.

we were just about sandblasted loking at these windmills so we quickly left this area and went shopping.

Yes, there are hordes of tourists if you don't get there early, and the unkempt parking area behind the windmills is disappointing. But the windmills themselves made me forget all of the rest! My husband and I both loved the photo ops of the windmills, water, sights of the town and our ship in the harbor, gorgeous blue skies. This was Greece to me! The windmills are a very short walk from town, and you can't miss them as they are higher that the town. We just took the path by the water and through restaurants, even getting a photo op with the famous pelican on our way!

When we reached the windmills, we were more impressed with the site than with the actual windmills. Clearly, they are situated here because of the strong winds that blow over the island. It is worth the climb up to the site and to learn about the function of the windmills in the past, but also to capture the beautiful of the island from a wonderful vantage point.

Aside from being the iconic symbol of Mykonos and a photo opportunity there is nothing special about the windmills. I can tell you that it is a good place to watch the sunset but it doesnt compare to the sunsets at Santorini.

Even though the iconic windmills are unique to Mykonos sadly they do not rate highly on the "must see" while on the island. The windmills are perched on a hilltop overlooking the harbour & walking distance from LittleVenice. None of the windmills are functioning - would be nice if at least one was in working condition - after all, they do represent a historic past of the island. Good Photo Opportunity for shutterbugs!

These iconic windmills is unique to Mykonos. Easily viewed from the cruise ship, it is picture perfect and blends well with the rest of the scenery.
