This is an easy place to visit and well worthwhile. The castle is completely fitted out inside with lovely chestnut wooden stairs, excellent displays and great views from its windows. The Church is typically Greek and very nice.The adjoining burial ground is well kept and attractive.The site is fairly close to the harbour.

The ruïns of an old castle overlooking the bay at Pythagorion. Close to a big parking place, easy walk from the town centre. The museum is closed on Mondays, it looks lovely and gives you a good feel of the place. No entrance fee which is a big plus, you would expect it to be crowded but it is not. There is also a big church with a lovely forecourt, it is being partly renovated at the moment. Next to it is a graveyard where you can see the typical way in which the Greek bury their dead. Next to the graveyard are the ruïns of an old church. There are nice information boards explaining the lay- out of the place. All in all a lovely place to visit.

amazing view from there! free entrance-you dont see that in castles back in the UK.lots of refurbishment to keep it neat. Wish there was some charity boxes for that -you could only find one inside the orthodox church!

An interesting visit - winding paths and steps through traditional passages and houses. Great views across the sea. Lots of photo opportunities.A romantic place for an evening meal.

cool fort with nice views. easy walk up through a forest. many picture opportunities. when we were finished we walked through the town and then ate lunch at a taverna facing the water.

A beautiful old castle on the beach of Pythagorion village, jast next to the big church. Visit it with your boy/girlfriend and your camera.

La struttura è molto bella, il castello si nota già giungendo dall'aereoporto, accanto alle sue mura si erge la chiesa principale, e accanto un cimitero. L'ho visitato a crepuscolo e il castello era chiuso, eppure passavo tutti i giorni nei paraggi, l'ho ammirata anche dalla camera dell'hotel, è molto bello e arricchisce il paesaggio. Dalle mura c'è una spettacolare vista mare ed è anche possibile ammirare un atterraggio o un decollo e notare il pendio sul quale è posizionata la pista dell'aereoporto.
