Very child friendly beach as the water was incredibly calm. Not very wide so can't say it was particularly special. Worth a visit if staying near by.
Ferradura Beach (meaning Horse Shoe Beach) is a beautyful and quiet place to visit. Due to its 'U' shape the sea is really calm, and ther's no risk of beeing catch by a wave. This same shape is responsible for its cold water, though. And I mean freezing cold considering Brazilian standards. It's northern portion has a bit more structure regarding food and beverages. Prices do go up during summer time.Don't expect to see a lot of natives, as foreigners are the main public on this place. It's worth a visit if you are in Buzios.
This is a beautiful beach as well, for snorkelling and doing some kayak/paddle too. It has very calm waters, it is also spacious, you can play some sports and also relax. Definitely a good beach.
I love just seating at one of the many beach front restaurants - not fancy, but good food - and having a drink, eating good seafood and going into the water to cool off from time to time.
That's my favorite beach in the small town of Búzios, the calm waters make it one of the most children friendly beaches in the region; It doesn't mean that adults can't have fun out here though. The prices areas high as the state's capital insane prices but nothing that we don't afford once in a while. Paid R$45 for a roasted chicken!!!Along the sand there are hundreds of wealthy mansions, most of them with a door facing the sea and also full of stuffs connected to water sports. If possible, walk in the direction of the rocks that form a bay in the both edges of the beach, they are responsible for keeping the water of this precious place calm, from the top of them you gonna have a breathtaking view of the beach and also an overlook of the resorts located alongside the hills.
We were lucky as the beach was pretty empty on a gorgeous spring day. Quiet blue water, soft sand , restaurant near by, and a very enjoyable experience. We've been told that it can get busy as this beach is a favorite with families, but it's not what we saw.
This beach was only a 5 minute walk from our Vila and it was BEAUTIFUL! The sand was hot, the water was cool and it is a more secluded beach which is wonderful. Beautiful view, water was pretty calm and we even saw a turtle. Lots of vendors on the beach selling jewelry, drinks, food, etc so if you want something they have it. Highly recommend seeing!!
Paradise, there isn't much more to say. I'll always remember this beach, heaven in Brazil, if you're in Búzios, don't miss it
We stayed at a pousada in Buzios that was a five minute walk to Ferradura Beach. This is a beautiful cove with a long beach, very tiny "waves" (more like being at a lake), and it has nice little activities like kayak rental, swan boat rental, etc. Perfect for families with young children or toddlers. As we were there in July and it was a bit cool and cloudy, we never went in the water, so I can't comment on the temperature of the water, but I'm guessing it wasn't a very inviting temp. This beach might be one of the wider beaches in Buzios, but is not as wide as the ones we are used to closer to Niteroi and Rio, so it's not ideal for playing soccer, and the sand is pretty packed down and so is too hard for falling on if you're playing pateca.Still, if you are looking for a very sweet spot to catch some rays, take a nice walk, or just hang out with your kids, this is a very nice beach.
The beach is very clean and with no waves. It´s very nice for kids and sports, like kayak and stand up paddle.
I loved it so much that I went back there twice even though I wanted to explore other beaches as well. This beach is on the bay so it's quiet and I loved that there were no waves! The water was sparkling and having cafes and restaurants at the end of the beach was great for those spending most of the day there. You don't have to pay for the chairs or the umbrellas as long as you order food or drinks in one of the cafes.
Ten minutes or less walk, parking is available, several restaurants and beach equipment rental vendors.
Ferradura was my favorite beach in Buzios. Calm and quiet with just the most peaceful view of the bay and turquoise water. The sand was white and powdery. Super easy to rent an umbrella and beach chairs, and there several unobtrusive vendors selling snacks and drinks. The only downside was that the water was super cold and the wind picked up as the day went on, blowing the sand everywhere. But overall a wonderful place to chill for the day.
Okay, blown away by the seclusion of this beach. We rented chairs for a nominal fee, had some corn on the cob from a vendor, bought a beer and hunkered down on the beach. Water was clear, chilly and salty. Sand was soft and blonde. We opted for the beach area that wasn't as crowded in exchange for a wind tunnel. But I wouldn't change that for the experience of this beach!!! Truly one of the most relaxing days of my entire trip. Could rent kayaks, paddle boats, etc but I preferred to walk the entire beach and just chill with my beverage and snacks and take a leisurely dip whenever I wanted.
Nice beach, with calm and quiet waters and plenty of bars and restaurants to eat and drink from with a good and fast service.
