What??? I cant believe the other reviews that are 100% positive about this place... so untrue.This pousada has small rooms that werent very well maintained. When I heard the owner was only renting this building and making new pousada downwind it really made sense why this place was so poorly maintained.In short...it was over rated.Food was expensiveBreakfast was cheap and not appetizing.The new building being built next door blocks all the view and wind from entering the pousada.And atmosphere...if you werent french or friends of someone there they paid little attention to you. As far as kite lessons...for a guy that claims to be an IKO examiner...he has inexperienced people teaching for him while he over charges for their hard work, there are better schools in Ilha to try...any would have been better.The lagoon was stellar for finding flat water, but not flat everywhere, the tides made tons of mud and shells in front of the pousada during low tide launches and very little space during high tide launched...we saw a few kites either tangle or end up the roof out front here...it was scary to watch, glad it wasnt us.Best of luck at this place...best recommendation...stay somewhere else and get a better service or value for the price.

environment and clima, always windy and sunny, beaches and lagoons. Low and high tide give you the chance to have a lot of different sea condition to enjoy a lot of different way to do kitesurfing.

nice flatwater lagoon, if you want the ocean go to Almofala beach nearby.lodging in nice pousadas in guajiru, almofala still wild, but really beautifull beach

Flat water paradise! If you are aware of the tide and kite when it is high tide this must be the best spot in Brazil. Stronger wind than you find further south in Cumbuco and Taiba. Very friendly and kind fellow kiters. Can be highly recommended.

really a very nice place to kite with lots of good friendly kiters. the lagoon is spacious and wind is everyday! Dont miss this spot.

It was great wind everyday, had some Pizza at 7 Beaufort, lessons with a local Brasilian, learned how to come upwind. Dislike, the choice of pousada, WWR...just too unfriendly.

I stayed here because it has the best kiteschool, I went to see the other schools and the instructors werent qualified or interested in teaching me since i was a beginner. There was one black girl teaching that didnt even have any certificate to teach, i left there immediately and found a better school. I recommend this place for kiting, just take water shoes since for beginners there are some small shells and rocks.

Best flat water in Brazil. This is the highlight of the coast for most kiters so make sure you plan to stay there as long as possible. Also check out the tides for the area to make sure you stay when there is a high tide during the day or there is very little water.

Looks like a very nice place, flat water yes, during parts of the days, there are some rocks and shells along the shoreline, not problem if you are NOT a beginner, if you are wear shoes and dont worry about booking along the beach, you will be paying more and kiting downwind anyways.Also, stay away from dutch pousada, wind village, their picture of the pool is very decieving, its small and there is no reception, and they make you walk to pure vida everytime you need something and the french owner there doesnt care to help.Be sure to stop in a see Erwin at the upwind Tent safari, very nice guy, tell him we say Gutentag!

If you are a kitesurfer, this place won't disappoint as the conditions are truly amazing. Wind every day! The only downside is that there is not much else for you to do in the local vicinity and there are no shops, but visits to the local town and other kite spots can be arranged.

The sun and wind are the two constants here.If you like kiting on flatwater this place is right for you.I doubt you find a better place in Brasil ( that is for flatwater - the only place I can think of that is this good is Barra du conau. But the wind and the sun is more consistent in Ihla du guajiro). This place is more or less buildt for kiting and thereby it is really touristified. But then again all that comes here are kiters so it really doesn't matter :)

It has a great lagoon to kite in, never crowded, lots of restaurants, tranquili and not noisy like other nearby spots.

perfect spot for both learning and advanced kiters: no danger for both at it's high wind ranges everyday!

The locals make lots of noise on thursday nights and on holidays.

Lugar perfeito para quem está iniciando no Kite. Vale muito a pena. As pousadas são boas e vivem em função kite. A água fica a poucos metros das pousadas. Para os mais experientes podem passar a Ilha e velejar no mar.
