This beautiful old tram with its trailer is well worth a ride if you happen to be in Santos. Travelling to Santos just for that may not be so rewarding. All that is left of an extensive tram system is now only a few kilometres long in 2 separate tours coming back to the central square and the overhead power line contact changed. The trip shows a very rundown and once splendid port in its time. There are still some classic facades, empty inside, and about to fall down themselves. The old port area and buildings particularly are a very sad sight. It can only be hoped that renovation will follow soon-but I'm not holding my breath.

The main feature of this is the tram ride. The tram does a 8 loop around the city centre, stopping often for traffic and badly parked cars and trucks. Not much to see on route, and if you don't speak Portuguese you will not understand much of the information. However if you like the experience of riding a old tram with friendly staff it's worth 45min.

If i will be giving another chance to come back again in Brazil..i would really love to visit Santos again..it happens that we were introduced to a very hospitable people who'd give us a ride...what most i like was the beautiful and friendly people i'd met...everybody would gives you smile and say hi..though communication is a bit hard..but i love them..

This is only in the old part of the town. The city needs to build a line and connect to the beach. In the past there were over 200 miles of tram lines in Santos, today this less than 3 miles.

i don't very like it .it very small and very old,no any english introduce.maybe it is in afternoon,I want to sleep.If you out of the bus station,Walk some steps,You can see some rail tracks.Walking along the tracks,then you can see the trail station.I must to say don't trust the map of This application.

You can learn a little bit of Brazil history in an original tram, driven by a tram specialist. You can learn new places to visit and enjoy some good coffee in the coffee museum after the ride.

The historic centre of Santos where the trams are, is sad, very sad. An overwhelming air of dereliction - we would not want to be there at night. The tram ride takes about 45 minutes to do the whole circuit and the trams themselves are easily the best part of the ride because there was literally nothing to see en-route .

This tour takes you to the past riding a cable car line trough the city center, showing important buildings and locations. The tour guide chap tells us very interesting stories about those buildings and how the city developed trough the centuries. I not sure if they do a tour guide in English but it is worth asking them, otherwise you might need to know some Portuguese to understand, if not, just enjoy the ride.

We travelled this Streetcar in March 2013. It was a 45 minute trip for 5 reas each.We enjoyed our time on it but it only runs a very short circular route. We had previously covered most of the route on foot. The tour was only narrated in Portuguese. We would have enjoyed it much more if the tour had been translated into English.

The first regular cable car line in the world took place in Santos, Brazil, brought by the British over two centuries ago, and it was a breakthrough in terms of public transportation.Today "The Bonde" is a major tourist attraction in Santos, with a single line running around downtown, the Coffee Museum and Latin America's largest port (worth taking that trip!).Here goes the curiosity: the name "Bonde" has appeared when the British took over Santos' Coffee Stock Market, back in the 19th century, and they also invested a lot in infrastructure there, building lines and bringing the trains from the UK. Then, some local journalist would publish: "This is a BOND that Santos will carry on forever"Immediately, the population translated that into Portuguese:BOND = BONDEToday, many cities in Brazil still provide cable cars as public transportation, and they call it "Bonde", i.e. Rio de Janeiro and Salvador.This is a true story!And I personally regret that the British haven't stayed longer in this country!

Um passeio muito legal pelo centro de Santos. Para quem gosta de relembrar ou conhecer um pouco da história da cidade

o bonde é objeto de saudosismo da minha infância, com guia , muito bem cuidado, itinerário interessante na parte histórica, tem também o bonde do café, que possui uma cafeteria em seu interior, o que permite passear tomando cafezinho.

Cidade maravilhosa, antiga com muitos atrativos. Passeio guiado duração de 1:30h muito bacana, passa por varios pontos atrativos da cidade.

Santos é uma cidade cheia de história e o passeio pelo bonde é importante pra conhecer um pouquinho da cidade que foi tão importante para o crescimento de SP. Durante o passeio o Guia conta algumas histórias e curiosidades, o que dá vontade de aprofundar no assunto e saber mais e mais! Não sei se é sempre assim, mas no dia em que fui tinha um senhorzinho que havia trabalhado nos bondes no passado e compartilhou um pouco de sua vasta experiência.
