I liked the beach Gonzaga: the pleasant temperature of the water, calm sea with few waves, the presence of many life saving and police that make the safe and organized place. a Gonzaga Beach advantage is that the stalls offer beach chairs for free, but the price of food and drink is expensive. What I did not like was the dirt left on the beach for swimmers. The city does a lot of cleaning times a day, yet the beach is very dirty.
Haven't been to santos yet but for any gringoes make sure you are constantly observant of the people around you at any beach in Brazil. Although Guaruja is considered worse, you need to be careul. The robberies here are constant because of the lack of police force and criminal justice system. They barely ever catch criminals so they kill a lot too. Keep your phones, watches, anything flashy hidden. Don't go to the beach at night. Usually u can spot them bc they all look the same and ride motorcycles. Be careful speaking English too.The city of Santos is said to be really nice. Source = American living in Sao Paulo
This is a good beach close to the popular shopping area. The beach is quite long and spacious but crowded during weekends and holidays. The sand is not the best you can find in Brazil nor the water the cleanest but its close to the city center and not bad at all. All in all a good beach to stroll down and enjoy the breeze.
The beaches in Santos are not the cleanest ones, but the climate is good. The sea is normally calm and you can find good services with accepted prices.
This is a fabulous beach that is super long and super wide. Tons of space for thousands of people to share with vendors set up along the way. U can walk for miles on hard sand so easy to walk on
We enjoyed the beach especially in the morning. In the afternoons, it gets busy! It has nice path next to it, so it nice for an afternoon walk. Also, it has lights for the night.
Pretty beach! Lovely garden! not much pollution & littering here, or anywhere in the beach area.. well until you get to the sidewalk there is always at least some trash, if you lucky the trash truck will pass by & pick up litter! Avoid the homeless asking for money, if you give them money they are most likely to only buy drugs & cigarettes, if you wish to help, give them some leftover beach snacks they will always appreciate it! Drunk teens is not very common but you sight one or a group, don't hesitate to ask (IF THEY CANNOT GET UP FROM THE GROUND WITHOUT HELP, ARE THROWING UP AND OR ATTEMPTING TO HURT THEMSELVES AND/OR EACH OTHER, IF THEY SEEM LIKE THEY ARE SMOKING ILLEGAL PRODUCTS CALL THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY !!!!!!!! ) Moving on.... At the beach, men going around selling corn, ice cream & churro's- Which is trustable, just don't by from the men selling bagged chips.. I learned from experience. Theres men that rent you chairs and Sun umbrellas which sometimes can be at a very good price- don't let him charge you more than $15 Reais...Pay attention! They might charge you by hour! Overall worth your time & Will bring you loads of great memories
santos is the most popular beace escape of the residents of sao paulo, and gonzaga is the center of town, where the main beach is located and few shopping centers. the beach is nicely designed, with great distance between the road and the sea, clean sand and grass, big enougth side walks as well as roads dedicated to bycicles, and just the rigth amount of food and alcohol stalls and booths along and besides the beach. however, something is missing, maybe a bit of authentic atmosphere, live music, coltural activity or just life.
For those who like a wonderful beach but don't wanna feel left alone in the middle of nowhere, Gonzaga Beach in Santos, Brazil, is the place to be the year round! just a few steps away from shopping malls, fancy bars and restaurants, Gonzaga provides Brazil's most valuable asset: life!
The sand was relatively clean, but the water was very dirty (in the first day the dirt resembled oil from the port and in the second day it resembled sewage). I will not come back.
that is where everybody wants to be seen!it`s always crowd, good for those who likes it!drinks are over priced!
need to be careful, and don't take any personal items to the beach with you. Robbery is rampant there
Tem um calçadão muito bom para fazer caminhadas, alguns quiosques para sentar e apreciar o mar, porem achei o mar improprio.
A descrição é praia...
