Located on the Midlands Road about 16 km north of Moora, this is a most interesting and enjoyable place to visit. Wildflowers are treated and prepared here, for the Eastern States and overseas dried wildflower markets. The flowers are displayed as they are drying, ready for export. Some are available for purchase at the facility. Rhonda, an ex schoolteacher, will show you around the operation, answer any questions you may have, and provide you with a free cup of tea or coffee. There is an extensive display of flower-related products including wildflower seeds, for purchase at very reasonable prices. We were amazed to find out the extent of the export market. Be careful that you are at the right location. Closer to Coomberdale there is a wildflower tour operation which is quite expensive. This one is free. Rhonda also told us where we could go, just five minutes away, and find masses of pink and white everlastings in their natural environment. Well worth your time, perhaps as part of a visit to Mullewa to see the August-September wildflowers.
We dropped in here on our way through to see the flowers and learn more about the farm. Was greeted by a very friendly lady who showed us some drying flowers and gave a short 5 minute talk/walk before sitting us in front of a Mike Leyand video about the wildflowers in WA (including this farm) and gave us a free coffee/tea. The video took about 40 minutes and while it was interesting we were hoping to see more of the flowers and how they are dried, etc. Still worth a visit but if time is short leave after the section on the video about the farm.
