With a lot of very old trees and well labelled you can take in a beautiful park and plants. A great setting and very tidy.
I have often simply walked past or through the gardens to get to the Riverstage for a performance, so this weekend I decided to have a look around and was pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of activities on a Friday afternoon, lots of runners and cyclist and a bunch of people playing Quidditch with brooms and all. There are some amazing trees, there is a beautiful pond (apart from loads of bird poo, but that seems unavoidable), I love the banyan trees here.
Must see! Just walk around or sit on a bench so relaxing! Benches overlooking the water, benches facing the fountain ! Take your pick!
Really lovely area, lots of tropical plants and shade if the day is too hot. Has a lovely cafe in the centre for cold drinks and food.
Fabulous location , peaceful and relaxing . Lovely shaded walks as well . Perfect for dusting off the jet lag or take a picnic in the middle of the day before continuing exploring this lovely city .
The Bptanical Gardens are very lively with many people. I often walked with friends, around the garden and onto the river walk at lunch times.Being from Tasmania originally, I was surprised at the lack of color, but soon discovered that there are typically only two seasons really. It was very pleasant & relaxing. Lots of people jogging, yoga, tai chi, touch footy matches, and much much more!Towards the centre of the gardens is a lovely oasis, with tea rooms. My family and I had a very pleasant couple of Sunday's meeting up for a coffee & cake. Devine! If you are in the area staying, a must see place for a relax from general inner city rush.
Nice trees and gardens not too commercial but a great place in city centre to wind down and see river and gardens
Overall, the gardens were clean and well kept. One of the ponds seemed a little neglected but the place was beautiful and quiet. There was some widlife. It is a nice respite from the surrounding city.
A nice place to spend a quiet moment by yourself or with your loved ones. Their are walking paths and Bike paths so keep fit is a nice option. overlooking the water close by makes it more relaxing. it's nice to have it the city center. We used it to walk off our dinner!
I lived the hotel near there. So I walked there every night. Sometimes, I visited at afternoons. I enjoyed the time to swing and think. At there you can see different plants and animals like squirrels.
Its in the city centre, its big and beautiful. You can walk down on the water with easy access to Eagle Street Pier. There is a little cafe if you get hungry or thirsty. A lot of beautiful botanics, trees and a lovely park. Makes for a very nice day in Brisbane to break up the urban jungle of a capitol city.
Take time out of your busy life just to stroll through these gardens and just see the beautiful designs that are on display for all to see, the flowers and trees, shrubs, and the birds within, are spectacular.
If this garden could speak it would tell you the history of Brisbane. There are several notices and posters that tell you about the history of the place, the events various settings commemorate and so forth. As you walk through this place you think about how different life was back in the 1850's and how tough the people were to survive.
lovely gardens with interesting playgrounds for both kids and adults...but the maniac cyclists are very dangerous, going at exorbitant speeds throughout. should be a speed limit.
A beautiful lush green refuge right on the fringe of the city centre. There are free guided walks daily at 11 am and 1 pm. Walkways are wide and clean- the one along the Brisbane river is especially scenic. Trees and shrubs are descriptively labelled and there is even free public wifi available.
