Beautiful little place, nice and quiet. Cabins and Coral cove resort are very close, in addition there is a nice little cafe here.Great place to bring the family for the day, beautifully shaded beach with She oaks growing mnot far from the waters edge, great safe snorkelling with beautiful visibility.A short walk up the path takes you up to the lookout which is well worth the effort. This cove is patrolled by lifeguards and there are clean toilet and a shower.Beautiful spot, you'll love it !!!
This is the reason people travel to Bowen. This beach is simply beautiful. Check with the locals about stingers between October and May but it's a great place for swimming and snorkelling. There are amenities and a cafe. Bliss.
Up from Airlie for the day to take a look around and the swimming and snorkelling were great. My partner chose to lay on the beach in the shade and had an equally great day.
We have had the good luck to visit many beautiful beaches during our travels and this certainly joins my list of favourites around the world. Not one of the biggest bays, but the shape, beautiful sand and accessibility puts it high on my list. It is also apparently one of the safer beaches to swim in. Go see!
This is a great little beach with lifesavers on patrol during the holidays and weekend. Coral just 30mt off the shore and a safe little cove for all ages.Food is available from the cafe but it is not friendly and the prices are average with more chips on your plate than anything else.
Easy to see how it gets its name! Classic seaside bay flanked by sandstone boulders. Watch out for stingers, although it is a patrolled beach and is netted early morning.
Very safe swimming and paddling beach. No stinger net but children wore stinger suits. Good rock climbing. Clear water.
on our recent trip up to bowen, we stopped in at Horseshoe bay and decided to stay a couple nights at Coral Cove. It's a great location with a stone throw away from the beach. the beach itself is also beautiful.
This is a fabulous beach and restful area. Make sure you take some time to explore the area.Plenty of accommodation and food options I the area.
Just hit a hole in 1. with this place. Its close to all shopping, has a fantastic view, a lap pool or beach to swim in.Fully self contained and like paradise.x
We have stayed at this Caravan Park a number of times over the years, Horseshoe Bay is the most beautiful place, great place for swimming, the views from the park quite stunning, especially with magical sunsets. We had a large site, but had to drag our hoses in between 2 other residents' sites, which was quite a nuisance. The Park just needs to be updated with regard to their amenities blocks, and at the block we used, there was only one washing machine which was outside of the toilet block, not good enough. The toilets/showers are extremely poor, needs a really good re-vamp , it is sad to see the facilities no different to our visit over 7 years ago. And for $37 per night (off peak season), should be much better than that. How many times did I walk over to reception, and it was closed for some reason or other. We absolutely love Horseshoe Bay, and the Bowen environs, we always go back, but would dearly love to see some improvements made in respect to the above.
This beach is lovely, the water is beautiful and crystal clear. Good mix of shaded areas and sunny spots. Nice little walks on the rocks! A few picnic benches available if needed, as well as (moderately clean) toilet/change room/baby change facilities. Good close proximity to tasty Horseshoe Bay Cafe.Lovely afternoon spent at Horseshoe Bay!
Horseshoe Bay is a great place to swim, snorkel, relax and have a nice meal as well in the café.There is also a great walk up to the lookout for a birds eye view of the surroundings. The walk is also a circuit which takes about 2hrs or from Horseshoe Bay you can walk via the foreshore to other picnic parks.
I attended a private function at the Horseshoe Bay Cafe last Friday night which is right next door to The Horseshoe Bay Resort. I was very disappointed with the way the manager of the resort acted towards the guests as well as the birthday girl. Instead of discussing her issue with the manager of the cafe she abused the young girl and ruined her night. She had said she had multiple noise complaints from the guests at the resort, which is not true as we spoke to many guests the next day and they said they were actually enjoying the music and that it was off by a reasonable hour, although they were a bit annoyed that they hadn't been pre warned by management when they checked in. She should have done her job correctly and pre warned her guests that there was going to be a function on and music would be played until 11.30pm (which had already been registered with local police) then there wouldn't have been any issues. Instead she took it upon herself to shut the function down and ruin a night that should have been a celebration. Very disgusted and I will not be recommending anyone to stay at her business as she is not only rude to her guests but also to the general public.
My wife and I stumbled across Horseshoe Bay on a whistle stop visit to the area and fell immediately in love with this gorgeous little bay - equal to anything we have seen anywhere in the world. If you are visiting Bowen, grab your togs and take a dip. You'll not regret it.
