Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly, helpful and very conscious of rider and horse safety. It was my first time riding a horse and although I was aprehensive at first, the approach the guides took made me relax and feel more comfortable. The horses are beautiful and well-behaved, and are suitable for beginner riders like myself.

I have just come back from an afternoon at the Tassiriki Ranch. I went there with my Mum and Sister and we had a great time. Our Horse Guide was Susie, she was fab! They offer a very professional service and I would highly recommend them if you are looking to get your first horse riding experience. Also at the end of our ride they had prepared for us, drinks (your choice of water, champagne, beers etc) and a whole bunch of snacks which we didn't expect at all - thanks so much to the team at Tassiriki, Chris, Helen and Susie.

A beautiful well kept ranch is the first glimpse when driving in.Meeting owners Chris & Helen whom are lovely, you understand how much they love their horses and the enjoyment they get providing their customers with a safe riding experience along the beautiful beach at Empire Vale. A hint to future customers. Make sure you state the amount of recent experience/training you have had on horseback, you will be matched with a horse as to your stated history. My daughter and I had a 1 1/2 hour ride, very pleasant company with others and memories she will cherish. Thanks to Helen for taking a photo of us on the beach, i forgot the camera! A must do if you are visiting the area.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in a basic self-contained cabin on the ranch, which included a double bed, tv, air conditioner, ensuite and cooking facilities. The location of the ranch was perfect, as it was secluded in a rural setting between the river and beach but not far from the town of Ballina. We found the owners (Chris and Helen) to be very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly before and during our 2-night stay. The horses and pace of the ride was matched to our first time riding experience and any nerves were quickly turned to confidence in no time! We rode out if the ranch through a winding bush trail and along south ballina beach through the sand and water. It was an unforgettable experience and we even saw whales offshore. We look forward to coming back again.
