It has everything for kids, a miniature ride on train, ducks and fantastic wooden playground. Not to mention lots of lovely open spaces to spread a blanket for a picnic and / or to play cricket.

QE2 Park has many paths for various walks, as well as superb beach on the western side. From the Mackays Crossing end, there are trams to ride, and a memorial to the US marines stationed here in WW2. From the Paekakariki side, its a short drive, or not too long a walk, to good cafes, and to the train station back into Wellington. Great picnic spots throughout the Park, and safe swimming between the flags at Paekakariki Surf Lifesaving just south.

I live in Masterton, and I always visit Queen Elizabeth park, there is lots to do, from taking a leisurely stroll around the lake, feeding the ducks, stopping in at the cafe and having brunch, lunch or even just a coffee, there's a miniature train that goes around the park, a supermarket straight across the road, to a big park for the kids to play on, also a fish n chip shop, 4 mins walk if u wanna have fish n chips at the park, nice day out for children and adults

Having grown up with this park as a child, then after leaving Masterton returning to visit withmy children, and now with five grandchildren, this park is still a lovely place to visit.I love the lake and the ducks and the trees are so tall, have always loved the band stand andPleased it is still there. I loved the fact that the war memorial at the front has added Vietnamand Iraq to the list of wars fought. The new playground is great for the kids.

This is a wonderful place for kids. We were there most of the day and didn't see everything (we missed the aviary). Great playground (although it would be great if they completely fenced it in, as it is so big that it is easy to lose track of your kids), flying fox, fun paddle boats (cheap ice blocks) where you can get a bag of old bread to feed the ducks that follow you around the lake and wear pirate hats, fun train rides around a small island, a walk to see deer, an aviary, a miniature golf place and a flower garden. Bring a picnic lunch or go across the street to Queen street where there are lots of places to grab lunch. Wonderful day out. There is also a great pool across the street too.

Don't miss it. The family of adults and 2 kids enjoyed everything about it. Check out the train, boats, playground, wide open tree-lined spaces

So much to do here, we took our 3 kids and highly recommend it. The Playground is very unique and probably the best free playground I've ever seen!

An enjoyable place to have a picnic or enjoy with the family or friends. It is a stunning location full of beautiful scenery and an expansive playground. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Take time out to cross the bridge and see the deer, have a row on the lake and the playground has a lot to offer the children. Toilets close by and the trees provide a lot of shelter from the hot Masterton sun.

Heaps to do at this Park - esp in the summer! Boats on the lake, mini motor bikes. Feed the ducks. Ride the train. Take a picnic lunch and stay ALL day. Swimming pools right across the road.

This is a wonderful park if you have kids then sooooo much to do. Miniature train ride (real cheap) playground, mini golf and so much more. If no kids then still plenty to do a great little cafe in the middle of the park and a very historic graveyard.

I love this park it is one of my favourites in the world. I come here everyday to enjoy my lunch (when at work) as is so peaceful and beautiful. In summer the wee lake has row boats to play in. There is a deer park, an aviary and lots of space to walk. Just lovely!

This is an astounding park that provides a raft of activities and environs. It feel big but is easy to walk around - offers a range of activities for all ages and links today with the past with a number of historical features. Good parking - great cafe - a mini train for the kids and a cricket ground in a tranquil and stately setting . And then you can sit down in the historic Cafe Cecile and enjoy great coffee and good food.
