Awesome place to unwind after a week of hard work. Go for a stroll, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The walk is beautiful and easy to do with a beautiful lake that you can rent boats to explore and easy to walk trail and just a nice area to go for a stroll and some wildlife.
Very nice place to go for a walk with family or friends. You can take your dog on leash. Very safe for women, lots of people around. You can do a good run too.
Beautiful nature and during the summer the flowers are bloomed it's so pretty they have serval trails you can choose from! People are running walking so playing on the paddle boats on the water it's just a fun day out
We just stop by for 30min. at the East end of Deer Lake park where play ground is.we usually come here during Spring and Summer for stroll around the park. This time, we saw many ducks, geese on the ground. my kids fed them and pet them. they are not afraid of our kids.In Summer, we bring own kayaks with my 10yrs and 13yrs. this park is urban gateway place within the core cities.
This park is beautiful! You don't feel like you are in a city at all. You are surrounded by trees and the lake. Full of wildlife such as ducks and seagulls, with warning signs about coyotes, bob cats and mountain lions. On the north side of the lake is Burnaby Village Museum, Burnaby Art Gallery and a bus loop.
it a nice quiet place to relax in the city and go for a stroll. there is the lake, beach. it very nice scenery.
This Park is a great place to take a walk either alone, with a companion or with a pet. It is a nice relaxing walk and fellow walkers are pleasant and courteous.
After not being here since I was a kid , I rediscovered this oasis a year or two ago . It almost has something for everyone . On the east side beside the beach there is a boat rental place that offers various non motorized watercraft . Staff is very friendly and helpful . The Burnaby Village Museum opens thru the summer and is an ideal place to take the kids for a step back in time . It's not a stuffy old museum , but a recreation of an old village where people dress up in period costumes . There is also an art gallery and grassy area for kids to run around . On the far west side of the park there is an area to fly radio controlled planes . The main attraction for me is the lake itself . Over the past few years they have built a trail around the lake and a boardwalk over the swampy areas . There are additional trails on the west side leading to Royal Oak Ave and up the hill . We've seen a bald eagle a couple of times and many other birds . It's a great spot to get away from it all and still be a few minutes from the craziness of the city .
This park is a place for all young and old, animals and nature lovers and boaters. Hidden from busy street Burnaby lake boasts, gardens, park, kids play area, boardwalk, beautiful trees and lake for canoeing. It has beautiful picnic spots, The Art Gallery, Shadbolt Centre, Burnaby Village Museum, Carousel and Hart House are all in this Park. My family and friends and children love this park and we go for walks, picnic or visit one of the sites. There is always something happening in the park . I love the lantern festival and the VSO open air concert. Christmas at the Burnaby Village is a must see with the family .
Nature in the city! Great trails, pet friendly. Theatre has evenibg shows. Food is available in Shadboldt Centre.
Deer lake park is a lovely place to go with family, have a look around the garden and smells the flowers. They also have a boardwalk where you can walk along the lake and a big green space so you can play frisbee or kick a ball around. There is also a small playground for children with a seesaw, swings and climbing frame. We had a great time there and my daughter loves the flowers! There is always a gardener there tending to things which is why it looks lovely even in winter.
There is a walk all around the lake parts of which are on a raised boardwalk. My dog hates the boardwalk since all the good smells are on the ground but if you are concerned about accessibility or walking on uneven surfaces this is ideal. The lake is no longer open for swimming but you can rent a canoe or paddle boat at the beach end during the summer. The playground for children is minimal and there are lots of geese and ducks so watch out for droppings. The big feature is right next door at the Burnaby Village Museum which is more of a destination. The lake is best for a nice ramble.
It's not far from Vancouver but you'll feel a million miles from the city. Beautiful park to stroll through and lots to see.
We went there for a blues festival this summer and it was awesome! It was a nice sunny day, the music was great and the view of deer lake in the background just made it!
