the best hike so far !!!! it is very well marked! dog friendly! bring your camera!!!!! the first peak view is a 360 degree view.absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
If the weather cooperates this is a well worth it drive up to the base of the ski hill and to drive up and park and walk around it is free! Yes, you can ski and sled in the winter, and in the summer a couple of lifts operate to take you up for even better views and access to hiking. Coffee shop is reasonable and actually has been consistently good.
You will like this drive to the top of the mountain great views for taking photos. Not much up there but well worth a few hours trip if you are on the north shore
Can get busy on weekends, ski hills are too short by the tubing park is lots of fun, and for kids too!
I recently went for a hike around Rice Lake on Seymour Mountain. The hike is actually more of a stroll, easy terrain and very accessible. The walk around is about 3km, and there are several spots that access the lake. It was a sunny day, and we ran into many people fishing. (small Rainbow Trout were being caught, and we were told the lake is stocked) The trail is well groomed and there is no chance of getting lost, making it a great trail for families with young children. (I also noticed an older crowd enjoying the trail) The trail has beautiful mature trees, and we saw many bird varieties including an Osprey. There are also "points of interest" along the way, which were fascinating. All a part of BC's history. The trails in this area are exceptionally well marked. We opted to just go around the lake, as we had little ones with us, but there are trails leading off the main one that make for a longer hike. There is also a floating bridge where people were fishing that was pretty cool. In the main area near the parking lot, (at the end of Lillooet Road, pass Capilano College), is a nature lodge, outhouses, picnic tables and a wooden gazebo; lots of great places for a picnic lunch. I also noticed several people bike riding, although I didn't see any on the trail we were on. Easy access from Hwy.1, amenities, and beautiful well-groomed trails, make this spot perfect for a family outing.
This place is best seen in Winter months and if you enjoy skiing or snow boarding excellent place to go.
Average ski area. Lots of gentle runs and a few more difficult. The only covered magic carpet in BC is neat to use. Lowest price lift ticket in the Vancouver area. Worst pizza I have ever had in my life....4.95 for a small dried out slice. Go for the snow, but skip the awful food.
On Christmas Eve we decided we were "Ready" for Christmas and took the kids tobagganing instead of shopping. We enjoyed the sledding at Mount Seymour and had quite a nice day. The facilities are average and although we enjoyed we couldn't stay more than about 2 hours since our kids are quite young. It was quite expensive $10 per person (even for a 2 year old). I guess that is the cost of grooming the 4 sled runs. The walkways were quite icy and it would have been nice if for the cost there was someone breaking up the ice to make the walkways safer. Parking was free and there is a coffee shop located there as well.
Thank you for your review! The views are stunning! We couldn't agree more!
This was our first hike for the Fall season. On a clear day, expect to see sprawling views of the Vancouver Lower Mainland. (I figure the view we saw could easily span the Tri-Cities to Downtown Vancouver.) The hike itself isn't a taxing hike from a cardio perspective, but it is a very technical one. There are lots of tree roots and rocks that form the trail, and if it was wet prior to your visit, expect lots of mud too. The trail distance about 4 km round trip. Parking during the off-season is free, and there is no park entrance fee. This particular trail is dog-friendly owners too. Wear good hiking shoes and bring a lunch to reward yourself at the top. I'll definitely return in the winter for a good snowshoeing!
Thank you for submitting a review of our resort! We are glad that you and your family enjoyed skiing and snowboarding with us! Hope to see you again this season.
Thank you Suzanne! We are looking forward to another great winter season up here! Hope to see you soon.
There are numerous hiking trails in the park so it never feels crowded. Quiet walks through old-growth forest bring a beautiful peacefulness.
I recently went to Mt. Seymour, hiking with a group of young people. Our original plan was to hike the Dog Mountain trail, but we were surprised to find that it was still packed in snow. We attempted it, but it was far too slippery. After ten minutes we decided to change trails and headed down the mountain. After about a 5 minute drive we came upon the provincial park sign. (left hand side when travelling down the mountain) We pulled in and were happy to find a picnic table, trail map sign, outhouse, and a beautiful trail! We hiked in about an hour, had lunch, and hiked out. We saw beautiful old trees, colourful mosses, and many interesting plants and shrubs. After the hike we enjoyed cold drinks and snacks on the picnic table, and were thankful for the outhouse! A great place to hike with many options. Just remember to check the trails before going....the snow sticks around later than sometimes expected!
We visited for the first time after living in Metro Vancouver for years! Convenient parking, great staff and night skiing was beautiful. Our kids were pretty new skiers and they were comfortable.
