Captain Peter,Yesterday, September 2nd, was a day we will not soon forget.First, your new vessel, the 'Whale Tale' is beautifully constructed, immaculately maintained, well appointed and very comfortable. In addition, it was seaworthy, powerful and very fast. We have had the pleasure of crossing Georgia Straight many times in the past, never have we done so as quickly and smoothly as yesterday.Second, the 'discovery' tour around the south end of Saturna was beautiful, the etched sandstone rock formations, the countless sea lions and birdlife and the currents through Boiling Reef, outstanding! The only thing missing was the Orcas often found in that area, however, you did locate several pods making their way south near Sydney, on Vancouver Island. They were a majestic site and entertained us and others for quite some time, simply breathtaking - we knew we could count on you!The trip back was so very scenic and interesting, loved the brief stop at Saturna Beach and the walk up the hill to the Saturna Island vineyards and winery, in particular, navigating the man made 'cut' separating North and South Pender Islands was beautiful, as was cruising past Port Browning and then Lyle Harbour and Winter Cove. Leaving Saturna by way of Boat Pass was very dramatic, the return crossing back to beautiful White Rock wrapped up a fabulous day.Your warm hospitality and that of your assistant and 'naturalist', Nadia, provided an experience that we will remember and be talking about for some time to come!Sincere thanks,Jay Paterson
We have now had two trips with Discovery SeaTours and have nothing but good things to say about the entire operation. Peter and his assistants (I'm sorry but I've misplaced their names, one time a young man and the last trip a pleasant young lady) were all very personable, full of knowledge of the local area and most willing to share information about everything from the wildlife to the details and operation of the boat. They all seem very skilled at what they do and were obviously concerned with our safety. We always felt comfortable, even though the boat at times was zipping across the water quite quickly. Absolutely no bumps; a very smooth ride. Both our trips were around Pender Island, Saturna and on towards Sidney on Vancouver Island. Yes, we did see the Orcas on the last trip but that was probably shear luck (or perhaps information from radio contacts?). We weren't looking for them but let me say that it made our day! We were absolutely delighted and have made promises to ourselves to get back on another trip this year.Highly recommend.
