We visited the tasting room to attempt to pick up some of the beer we'd sampled at a local restaurant the night before, and we were not disappointed. We had a lovely tasting done for us, and purchased a case of beers that didn't last us long enough at all. The location is gorgeous, too - at the end of an out of the way road, and then up a picturesque set of stairs to the small tasting room.I fully recommend the Golden Ale. Wholeheartedly.
We stopped here on our short trip to Salt Spring Island. The tasting room had just opened last summer and was really cool. You walk up some stairs above the brewery to try beers. The tasting was free which is nice. Our friends bought a litre of one of the beers.
We were married on Salt Spring last June and we had two kegs of Salt Spring Ales- Heather and Golden Ales. Our guests raved about how amazing their beer was! We really appreciated how flexible they were in dropping off the kegs at our wedding venue. We returned to Salt Spring for our one year anniversary, and we brought some friends who had been unable to make it to our wedding. We stopped to watch eagles fly over us on the drive up to the tasting room, as did other visitors on their way! We were able to test four beers free of charge, and ended purchasing the Heather Ale and Dry Porter to enjoy later in our accommodation's hot tub. Fantastic craft beer! :)
Perfect stop to taste some local craft beer and pickup a growler for an island hike. I will be back.
A big thank you to Kate who did an incredible tasting for our visit this past weekend. Some great beer here, well worth the visit. Also, special thanks to Murray for a look "behind the scenes"!Favourties include: Heather Ale, Porter, and the Creme Brulee beer!Cheers!
I love this place, makes a great outing also, nestled in the fertile Fulford Valley. Brewery tasting and tours offered daily. Get a big brown jug of the Salt Spring Island Dry Porter, this time of year that's my top choice, along with the Fireside Ale. We bought a refillable jug so when we go back we can fill it for only 12 bucks!
Didn't go to the ale house, but had their beer in town. It was really good and I believe it's really nice to have a local beer while on vacation.
