The lay-out and the design of each hole was very interesting and beatiful, but the condition was not so good due to the heavy rain.
This was Round 2 of 3 of a recent golf trip.We played this course a few years ago as well - the course is extremely challenging and great to play (carts are included in the price) BUT the greens were in terrible shape.
Its coming back, the Aquilini's now own The Falls and are doing a fine job. Very competitive green fees for a challenging golf course. Should have booked online and saved a few bucks!!
The Falls Golf Club is no longer affiliated with the Villas. The course is under new ownership as of last year. I am trying to have this taken down as The Falls is a Golf Course and Venue only.
The Falls has been a pipe dream for 20 years. It may take off yet, as it now has money backing it. But for the here and now, don't expect much in the way of "resort". It is situated on an old Girl Guide camp and most of the buildings are still remnant from those days. The golf however is good and the price is very reasonable for what you get. So, I would say it is good value. You can rent a townhouse and they are nice and situated on the first t-box right next to the unfinished town houses that were started just prior to foreclosure....they are only half finished. In time, keep checking back. Once the golf is $125 for a round, you will then know a true resort has been developed. For now, go with very modest expectations and you will not be disappointed. As for the golf, the course is in reasonable condition. The beauty of the course may take your mind off the fact most traps are rocky and muddy, a few fairways have drainage issues and are often boggy and if you slice or hook....bring extra balls. I have golfed here over 100 times and keep going back, despite having lost money from passes that were not honoured (because of foreclosure). So, there must be a draw....maybe it is the view, the price and the deer that sometimes scamper across the fairway.
This was a true find. The golf course was well maintained, and was an awesome track. It seemed to me that every hole was uphill, until around the 14th hole where the drive was for-ever downhill. A great experience at an unbelievably low price. Get out to this course before they discover that it is worth more than that.
Finally got talked into expanding my usual golf and dash outing into a weekend at this mountain side facility. The golf, as always, was exceptional...a well-groomed challenging track with soaring vistas. The surprise was in the overnight facilities from the properties' rental pool...lovely condo like properties beautifully turned out at an attractive price point. The food services were equally surprising...simpler fare, but very well prepared and professionally served. Out of the way, but certainly light years beyond the better marketed, but in all ways inferior neighbour, Sandpiper.
The Falls golf course went bankrupt in the fall of 2011 and did not re=open until the summer of 2012. Because the course was not kept up it is in poor condition. The greens are the worst for wear and need to be redone, all patchy..If the greens get fixed it will be back to a beautiful golf course.
You Get a power cart for free but the elevation changes are huge. Some Holes you will be shooting of Tall hills and at the end it's a 7min power cart ride up back to the clubhouse
