Seafoam Lavender Farm is a small, family-owned/operated eco-tourism business, with emphasis on the manufacturing of 65 culinary, household, and skincare products. Our farm is open to the public from June - September each year. We feature a 3-acre, 85-row lavender garden containing over 2,000 lavender plants of 30+ different species and a self-guided tour which explains the different types of lavender as well as how we process the buds and flowers into finished products. All weeding and cultivation is done by hand, hence the need to keep our plant population and lavender garden to a manageable size. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy our entire 124-acre farm with beautiful ocean views...and nearby beaches. The best time to come is the month of July, when most plants are in bloom. :)
We stopped by here for a short while on my birthday. The grounds are pretty and you can roam around to sniff the plants. They have at least 40 species of plants that you can smell. There is a gift shop of course and bathroom facilities.
We went to its annual lavender festival - in 2014 it was on July 19 and 20.It was free to attend, and the family-run farm has many varieties of lavender. Talks and tours were provided. There was food for sale as well, along with a gift shop that had some great items. The weather was wonderful and it was so relaxing to be seeing so much lavender. The family has done a great job hosting this annual event. They were passionate and knowledgeable.Don't miss it in 2015!!!
The Seafoam Lavender Farm is a treat for the senses! The plants are lush and beautiful with a sea view and a hint of Prince Edward Island in the distance. The fragrance of lavender hangs in the air and is mixed with other wonderful scents in the shop: lemon, jasmine, verbena, vanilla and so many others. The owners and their staff treat every visitor with a warm welcome. Every trip to the lavender farm simply makes the visitor want to return. An added bonus is you may take a bit of the farm away with you through its varied products and plants.
Support a local small business with some great skin products. You can even buy the lavender plants to take home with you.
The family of humans and animals here make you feel so welcome. Lots of activity with a pot bellied pig, a dog, cashmere goats, peacocks, hens, a llama....I may be losing count. Owners are very welcoming and at ease with visitors to their farm. Animals are beloved family members too.I admire the passion, hard work, talent and committment of this family to create a thriving business in rural Nova Scotia. Their dog shampoo is amazing as is the bath tonic. Wish I'd been able to afford some of the beautifully hand knit cashmere items. Wool and fleece also for sale.I highly recommend this as a stop along highway 6, the Sunrise Trail.
