The beach is located at the end of a length gravel road, which was rough travel in some parts. They have ample parking, toilets and change facilities.Clear trails lead from the parking area across the dunes to the beach, which is long with plenty of fairly fine golden sand. Pay attention to the warning signs for jelly fish in the water. We visited in September and did not see any lifeguards, so I suspect they are summer only. They also have warning signs not to disturb nesting birds, so stay on the trails.Didn't go in the water due to stormy winds creating a good surf.

We visited Parquet Beach yesterday and although the weather was not ideal for a beach visit we all had a great time. Nice sandy beach that is easy to access. Life guard on duty. Clean restrooms. There is no canteen and if you venture into the water, watch out for the jellyfish. The views are amazing and we had full run of the beach yesterday which meant our kids spent hours skipping rocks into the ocean with no worries of taking someone's eyes out. It's definitely worth the visit if you're looking to have a beach day.

I grew up going to this beach and keep coming back even though I now live 2 hours away. Large sandy beach, with some of the warmest waters north of the Carolina's. Great beach for long walks, castle building, sunbathing, swimming. Life gaurds on duty, gradual entry so good for kids. By far my favourite here are the piping plovers. They are protected so please do not go into there nesting areas. Change rooms and bathrooms on site, but no canteen. Enjoy!
