This park is the biggest and beautiful park with the mountain view. It is a refreshing place for kids and adults. Loved this place soo much
Having been born in Wiarton some 63 years ago now, I have seen many changes in the park. This park is now set up with one of the finest boat launching facilities I have seen. There is also a huge long dock, where people walk out and kids jump off and sometime swim, although I wouldn't recommend it, There is a lovely pool in the park. Poor Beach area.
Bluewater park is lovely; they provide lots of activities for the kids along with lovely walking trails for adults. There are exercise equipment along some of the trails. Enjoyed watching people jump off the docks.
We are new to the RV travel aspect of vacations and thought we would try a location within 2 hours of home. Selected this location because its small town fell. We expected a park with basic services as its run by the Municipality. It is a basic camping experience, clean (bounds, washrooms) a majority of the sites have trees and sites are separated by cedar hedges. Our site was in the centre with no trees however accommodated our 5th wheel and for a new-bee to RVing easy to back into. Walking distance to the main street and lots of small town shopping. A great grocery store with an outstanding bakery and a nice deli. You must try the bakery - small town good. New workout park along the water front. We have visited large private sites with the pools etc. This is much more the fell of camping/RVing we were looking for.
Just perfect place to have a picnic with your family, specially if you have kids. Very nice large playground area and water area to play in. Clean picnic area with unforgettable view. We vent there twice. Very good for families with kids 2-6 years old and for picnic. The picnic area is at that distance from the playground so you can keep an eye on your kids but still be in a quiet place.
We were there on a Wiarton Wednesday and got to experience the old car show. We did a bit of geocaching and then found the playground, splash pad (with Willie splashers), the beautiful stone Willie statue and then Willie himself. A great spot for a picnic and a play to let the kids get the lead out. Apparently we missed a great ball game due to getting the kids to bed, but we'll definitely stick around for that next time.
The Bluewater Park is run by the local municipality so it's relatively clean and not all that loud but that's where the good things generally end.If you tent, you're going to get to know your neighbours. You'll hear them sleep, eat and even share stories. At the north end of the park it's possible to touch three different tents on three different sites within 20 feet. On our first morning there the tenters next to us set their alarm for 6:30 am. Everyone in the vicinity soon awoke to Kings of Leon. Most of the sites are home to seasonal campers and they usually keep to themselves. But in front of those sites are tenting sites that don't require a credit card for booking. $32 per night. Cash only. That policy brings in everyone, so watch your gear. The view of the bay is nice but there is no access for swimming. This is a last resort spot. If there is something else, take it.
lots of stuff for kids to do , watch a ball game, use the outdoor gym equipment, play on the sandy beach, use the boat launch and cleaning station, visit the old train station, walk the boardwalk, use the picnic pavillion and swim at the pool, walk all the way down to the marina and see the boats, plus a great play area for the kids. Don't forget to stop and say "hi" to Wiarton Willie. I live in this area and love this park. Took my family visiting from out of town to this park and they were absolutely amazed at how beautiful it was. There is also seasonal camping and Coalshed Willies Restaurant.
