This park is definitely less well-known than Bako National Park, but it is still definitely still worth a visit. I didn't see much wildlife other than frogs and birds, but the trails are nicely marked and well maintained, and there is a great waterfall on one of the trails. The trails are mostly easy - moderate level and are relatively short. If you're looking for a day or half-day of hiking through a nice forest, check it out.

This is the park nearest to the city, so if you do not have much time for a real exploration into the forest, you can always go to Kubah National Park, of which, a visit to the adjacent Matang Wildlife Center is a good combination!

I liked how natural and untouched Kubah National Park felt. The trails were rugged with a lot of ups and downs. I hiked to a waterfall and across other jungle trails. There were much fewer tourists at Kubah than at Bako. Although the wildlife was less present (I only saw one monkey at Kubah, and a bunch of giant insects), the dense and diverse flora made up for it.

The indications regarding the difficulty of the trails were quiet... strange. Prepare a lot of water. The trail can be very difficult in some places for people afraid of height. To go to the waterfall, we took a long road that spoiled a little bit our adventures. To go back we decided to use another trail, but this one was quiet difficult and long. The waterfall is really nice and we even spotted a tiny turtoise. On our ways: one snake, big cockroaches and ... leeches.

Kubah National Park is very nice place to see nature life. There are lot of animals and birds to see. We saw Orang Utan, Civet Cats, Sun Bears, Bear Cats, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Porcupines and Crocodiles as well as a large variety of birds such as Hornbills, Brahminy kites and Sea Eagles in Kubah National Park. Our tour operator GoTourister.com picked up from our Kuching hotel on time, they provide us there best services. We really enjoyed their company in Kubah National Park. Thanks GoTourister.com for providing us best budgeted day trip with best services.

The park is generally hard walking so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Arrived just after dusk and dropped our kit at the accommodation, basic but clean and spacious, then went for a night walk, great! Birded most of the following day.We enjoyed the walking that much we went back on a free day.

This was a fantastic day trip, starting early we got the 8 am bus from the bus station. There are a number of hikes that you can do in the park, but by the far the highlights are the waterfall (where you can swim and sometimes spot frogs) and the circuit that takes in the viewing platform and affords views across the wetland areas below out to the coast.

This is a place where you can bring your kids to . They have wild animals that are kept in the enclosure . It's like a mini zoo.. And to go from one place to another , you need to walk through the trail that was provided and it's quite safe for the kids to walk. after visiting the animals, you can also dip in the cool water. So remember to bring extra clothes to change. Your kids will surely love the trip.

At Kubah, we took a long climb up a hill, and then we took the waterfall trail. The waterfall was really pretty, and we got to swim in the pool at the bottom of the falls. But before we took a swim, we took a 1.5 km hike with pretty views. We saw pandan leaves and a sweat bee nest. The hike was beautiful, but strenuous-- bring water and wear shoes comfortable for hiking!

Underrated location which is an outstanding rainforest reserve with an incredible variety of frogs & insects. Visit the frog pond after dark with a torch light or take a walk along the main road at dusk and listen to the incredible natural sounds.

Travelled from Kuching via K21 bus (4 ringgit each way), the bus drops you a couple of hundred metres from the gate, 20 ringgit entry fee (for non Malaysian adults). The park staff were very helpful with choice of trail for our time frame. We then had a very peaceful walk to the waterfall, along well marked and maintained trails. Waterfall was beautiful and has some shallow pools you may dip your feet in. Highly recommend this walk. It will take 1-1.5 hours to walk to the waterfall from Park HQ. We then joined the Selang trail which goes through the jungle and takes you to an excellent viewing platform - don't miss it- it is up a 90 degree ladder (5 steps). Remember to take sensible walking shoes and food and drink (there isn't a shop there, the only thing for sale is mineral water). Had a lovely day, definitely do if in Kuching- closer than any other national park to the city!

I've been here yesterday, which was 25th of May. 4 of us start hiking at 1000 hours and reached the waterfall about 1 hr 30 min. Well, we just getting there for the waterfall..because we forgot to bring any foods but only 2 bottles of plain water. So, if you plan to get there please bring some foods (energy bar, chocolate) if u are not fit enough. Also, please wear tight inner clothes because there are leeches due to the high humidity.. Overall this NP highly recommended for nature lover..

Hikers would love this park ! It is not a leisure hike at all ,it can get challenging starting with the uphill walk from the car park but one can skip this by directly driving up the hill and parking next to the desired trail and in case one is too tired to walk downhill when finishing the trail .Hiked the Waterfall trail during a moderate downpour ,the wet leaves and moss made the trail slippery and longer than the suggested time but it was well worth it ,the waterfall was lovely ,water was so cool and refreshing .Relaxed for an hour under the waterfall and was ready for the hike back to the car park but instead of backtracking we took the Rayu trail back which brings one back to the park HQ which was challenging too with a lot of upward hike's.A lot butterflies ,bees and insects were spotted as well as the birds were singing constantly but no crocodile's or big animals .Do bring a lot of water and fruits to keep one's energy up as there is no where to do so at the park .Tip:Please visit together with the Matang Wildlife Reserve in the same day as it's the same ticket which is RM 20/USD 7 for foreigners and RM 10 for locals for both places .

April 15, 2014 Tuesday, sunny.2 of us started climbing at about 8.30am. Sky was clear & the air was still. 500m later, our Tees were already soaked with running sweat, which was a nice feeling! That day we decided to visit the waterfall, so we took the trail as indicated by the side of the road. The path was a bit wet, likely due to shower overnight. Air in the woods was also still; and quite save occasional shrieks from unknown birds. The flora here were just amazing, a bit irritated though we didn't know their names. After maybe 1 1/2 hrs we reached the waterfall itself. We didnt dip in for fear of the dreaded leeches, which my friend suffered one as we were approaching the water. The view was nice, and the coolness of the stream washed away whatever fatigue that was in our legs. The entire place that day belonged to just the two of us!!Nice place to relax outdoor if you are in Kuching and find yourself free time to burn I would say...We are looking forward to try out the longer Rayu Trial which ends at Matang Wildlife Centre, probably next month.Watch this space!!
