This place is just awesome. We were driving from Furano to Obihiro, so we searched Tripadvisor to see if any place to stop by. There were just a handful of reviews on this place, but everyone said it's worth visiting. We weren't expecting much from this place though. When we arrived the place, we were shocked to see an aged elementary school (more than 100 years old) there. We kind of hesitated to enter the place, but we went in anyway. The owner was really friendly, but we again hesitated to pay when he asked for donation of JPY800. Again, we were surprised that it was really worth it. They had more than 1000 kaleidoscopes to see and play with them. Many of them are one of a kind. It was so much fun. We ending up spent around 90 minutes there.

いろいろな万華鏡が本当にいっぱいあります。館長（でいいのかな？）がとてもフレンドリーでいろいろ説明してくれます。全部見るなら１時間では足りません。

入場料800円は高いかなと正直思いましたが、廃校を利用した手作り感あふれるミュージアムでした。オルゴールと一緒になってる万華鏡があって、オルゴールの音がとても落ち着きました。影絵が体験できたり、暗い中で見る万華鏡はとても幻想的でした。見たこともない万華鏡ばかりなので、けっこう楽しめます。自分が万華鏡の中から見えて写真が撮れる場所もあり、お互いに写真を撮りあうと楽しいと思います。館長さん？がとても丁寧にあちこち説明してくれましたよ。

万華鏡のコレクションとしては世界一の数を誇る博物館だそうで、建物は築100年以上の小学校の校舎をそのまま利用しています。ただ小さな万華鏡の陳列がされている博物館だと思いきや、ワイン樽を覗くものや、部屋そのものが万華鏡という驚きがありました。オルゴール音を聞きながら幻灯機でみる万華鏡は感動的でした。万華鏡の製作体験をして土産にもって帰りましたが、手づくりの時間はとても楽しめました。
