This center includes Radio Ixil and the Museum of Archaeology, which has some 800 pieces from various ruins around Nebaj. Changed periodically, there are around 100 pieces on display at any one time. This museum is well worth the @15 fee ($2) to get an idea of the ancient culture that exhisted in this area where no ruins have been restored. It is great to now see a museum in town. When I lived here 45 years ago, this was a town of 5,000, now it is 42,000. Then, there was no real way to preserve artifacts, and no attempt to do so. I welcome the museum and plan to make some contributions to it.
