国家歌剧院

布拉格的艺文活动算是欧洲国家里价格很亲民的，出发前先在网路上订好了Carman的票，建筑外观很容易让人忽略了它的存在，歌剧院里面的装潢完全是走"奢华"风，但是感受得出来使用年数已久，听不懂义大利语、德语、法语在舞台上方会有英文字幕，前往观赏请著正式服装喔!!!票价真的不贵。

从国家歌剧院的建筑规模能看出国家的经济实力。布拉格歌剧院规模不大，与周边建筑没有明显区别。时间匆忙没能亲自在里面听音乐会。

We recently visited the State Opera for the third time, this time for an absolutely sublime production of La Traviata. We had excellent seats near the front of the first balcony for which we paid a fraction of what we would have done at Covent Garden, the Met etc. We were with friends who are not frequent opera goers and they loved it, said that it felt as if the singers were performing just for us. Being Prague the quality of the playing and singing was excellent. It's also worth going just to see the interior of this beautiful building. Best of all, a glass of Sekt only 60czk (less than £2)! Just one thing to say - do dress for the occasion, every one else does

We decided to check out an opera while in Prague. It was a great decision! Seats in the second balcony for around $20 (490czk). A fun production. What a lovely building, too. A word to would be opera goers: if you are trying this to experience Prague arts and culture (and are not an opera aficionado) then the second balcony is great. The rows are spaced vertically so every row has a good view of the stage. Sit as close to the middle as you can, as the stage isn't that far away (compared to balcony in some theaters).

What a wonderful experience. Loved the production. Luckily I can understand Italian so that was fine but the subtitles helped my partner. Really moving performance and so cheap compared with similar experiences in Paris and the UK.Everyone was so helpful as it was our first visit and we will definately go back.

We watched Aida here and really enjoyed coming to this beautiful opera house. The theatre itself is stunning and well kept.It was our first time of watching Opera and I feel it has really set a high standard. The performance was wonderful. There are subtitles... Although I believe that there must have been some 'paraphrasing' going on, but it didn't detract at all. Maybe make sure you read up on the story of any opera that you go to see. We were sat on the second balcony, 3rd row. The seats were fine for what we paid - incredible value in fact, however I wish I'd gotten them sooner and been able to sit a little lower down as people on row 1 of our balcony spent a good bit of time leaning forward and in doing so did obscure our view a good bit, which was a small shame. The opera house is well catered. Plenty of front of house staff. The coat drop off/pick up was a smooth operation. Two things to note - make sure you order your drinks for the interval. We did and we're pleased not to have to stand in the queues that seemed to move well but still take most of the interval to clear. The drinks/ snacks ordering was very easy and worked perfectly. The second point to note is that if you ladies need the toilet then there aren't many... Get straight there almost as soon as the curtain closes for interval if you can as we were first there simply because of where we say but by the time we came it the queue was immense. A really memorial evening spent here! And dress up! It looked lovely to see everyone who did :-)

Watched Carmen yesterday. It was a beautiful theatre with great view even from the second floor. A pity that I couldnt understand the singing, so had to read the subtitle translations. I believe I would have enjoyed more if I could understand...

We stayed three nights in Prague and went 3 nights to the opera, Rusalka, La Traviata and Otello. In the latter we were spoiled by the guest star Jose Cura who performed the role of Otello.7 years ago we stayed in town for a month and went several times and enjoyed every one of them. This time it wasn't any different. A splendid evening out for so much less money than the operas in the big cities in W. Europe.Opera lovers if you go to Prague , book your tickets online.

Cajoled by the wife to go to a ballet for the first time ever whilst on our anniversary in Prague. Well, if all ballet is like this then I think I have missed out. Fantastic building, inexpensive drinks and nibbles unlike rip-off England where once inside you get charged extortionately. We splashed out and got a balcony box and shared it with a Czech lady and her young daughter who was mesmerised. We were right next to the orchestra pit which was amazing to watch too. The ballet was Sleeping Beauty so we understood the story which obviously helps. Get dressed up..have a glass of Champagne and enjoy ballet (or opera) in a real atmospheric place

Pre-book an e-ticket for the ballet to really enjoy this ornate building. Superb golden lightshades, detailed gold patterns, cherubs and full sized figures support pillars and balconies. Do not miss it if you like Baroque interiors ( a guidebook calls it neo-rococo, for those in the know). The ballet performance was excellent, too.

The tickets we booked were sold to someone else when we were already in Prague!We came to Prague with our family speaking about visiting Prague Opera as one of the main events of the trip. We were trying to buy six tickets online 2-3 months in advance but the system didn’t work. We contacted the booking office trying to do it by phone or email but we were told that a reservation would be enough and that we could pay for the tickets when we are in Prague. So 24 hours before the set deadline we came to the booking company office to pay for the tickets, showed the printed email with our booking information but we were told that our tickets were sold to someone else!!! It was a decision of the head of this booking office taken that very morning. The lady at the counter was really trying to help calling to her boss, to the theater, to some hotels and so on. This head of the booking office screamed at the on the phone and even made her cry, to us he clearly said that he didn’t care for the situation!!! So, first we were told that the theater was full and it was the reason to cancel our booking. Then we were offered separate seats at the ends of the rows, then – a director’s box!!! (but don’t be fooled! it doesn’t mean the best seat! it means the seat from where you can see just the side of the backstage!!!). At the end, after about 2-3 hours and police arrival, we were offered 2 seats from our booking and 4 seats right behind them!!!As for the theater itself it was really beautiful and it was a pleasure to see guests wearing black tie and evening dresses. The opera was fine (can’t be compared with La Scala or Bolshoi) and we enjoyed the visit but of course the theater should work on tickets sale issue!

This is a world-class venue situated in the Mustek District, accessible via the metro green line (Muzeum A) or red line (Muzeum C). The interior is ornate, the exterior elegant, an overall fine concert hall not just for opera connoisseurs. The close proximity of Vienna, "the City of Music," often overshadows the great music history Prague has, with the likes of Mozart having performed in this city centuries ago. By no means is the State Opera on par with the Met in NYC or the Sydney Opera House, but it still deserves a visit.

We came to enjoy Carmen at the beginning of December 2014. State Opera in Prague is exactly what Prague and Czech Rep is known for: Beautiful architecture that breaths history. It was such a beautiful and welcome change....to see people formally, properly dressed in a breathtaking opera house, that is truly magical. Along with a first class performance, dress code and a glass of Bohemia champagne, this was a classy act that I truly recommend. Bring someone special and get ready to be swept away.

My class went there to watch an opera. I forgot the name, I'm sorry. I'm not really the person who loves operas, but it's just really beautiful and it really was a great experience! I don't know how much a ticket costs, when you don't travel in a group. Have fun!

Wow! The interior of this opera house is worth the price of admission alone! Simply breathtaking! We bought last minute and reasonable tickets to Carmen on a Saturday night. I was worried about a certain dress code but I felt perfectly comfortable in dress pants and a fancy knit sweater set and pearls. Most were dressed in black, smart casual so I'm glad I didn't pack a gown or a tux for my husband. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy a glass of sparkling Czech wine!
